Transmission shifting slow.

Does anyone else have slow shifting when using the maunual shifter for the A/T. Seems like it takes a while to change gears( aprox. half second). Mabe I'm thinking too much into this device trying to make quickshifts like a true manual transmission. Is there a way to quicken the shift duration?

I'm sure others will disagree but I don't find the manual shift mode very useful. I thought it would be a cool feature when I got the car but the lag is terrible and for me, makes the feature useless.

Seems like to me if you shift it below 4000rpm it will shift slower than it you shift at around red-line.

I find the tiptronic to be most useful in keeping the car from upshifting when going down very long/curvy/dangerous descents, which I frequently do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. This enables the use of engine compression to help with the braking. I consider this a great safety feature.

The tiptronic was definitely not designed or intended for use by Mario Andretti or Fireball Roberts.

The manual shift modes works beautifully when you're letting her rip. But is somewhat useless in my opinion just cruising aournd.

I really wanted a Max with a true manual tranny, but i would have had to wait 2 weeks for dealer to find and deliver one. I guess the A/T manual will allow my exhaust to be heard near the redline.

I agree with this totally. The only time I really use the manual mode is when I'm playing around with people off the line at stop lights. In these cases I'm pretty much shifting right before red line. The feature has no "real purpose" in my opinion. It's just there for fun to me. It does help with braking, but I don't have that many hills in Chicago

Serious lag for me also and I do not use it much. Sometimes nice to have it in 3rd right near the sweet spot.....nice little play toy....but MAJOR lag. Just my 2 cents.
