Removing Nissan emblem for spoiler

1st time poster...I just bought an oem style lip spoiler off ebay and was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on how to remove the Nissan emblem on the trunk of an 05 Maxima SL. Also, after I remove it, what should I do to attach it to the spoiler ?(there's a circular area to place it on the spoiler). Thanks in advance!

I used a blow dryer to remove all my badges from the back except the Nissan badge on the OEM spoiler. You have to try to protect the paint and run the dryer on the badge while prying it with your finger. I just have someone hold a rag around the outside of the badge and that deflects enough of the heat. Should take about 5-10 min for the Nissan logo.

thanks

I'll give that a try. What about attaching the logo to the spoiler? What should be used to remove the old adhesive and what should I use for the new adhesive?

Try goo-gone to remove the old stuff and use double sided tape to re-apply.

Silverbelle made a good suggestion. Goo-gone or something like that is good to remove the old glue, BUT use a Q tip to localize the application. I then polished and waxed the area.

Good advice giving on the use of a blowdryer...you can use dental floss to pry it off once you heat it up. Then use a 3M double-sided all weather tape for putting the emblem back on. I use the 3M stuff a lot and it holds up to rain, heat, snow...you name it!

Fishing line works the best.. I tried floss it didnt hold up too well. Does the spoiler you bought have the hamburger in it already?

I used fishing line for removing my emblems and WD-40 to remove what was left of the adhesive.....than, I put a nice coat of wax over the area. Was pretty simple. Dental floss will work also but will break often. Hope this helps.

I pulled the emblem off today. I started with the hairdryer and tried using dental floss to remove it. Then, my wife suggested the fishing line and it worked perfectly. Then I come back here and see that fishing line is recommended as well. Thanks to all. Great forum!

Yes, my spoiler has the hamburger on it already. I bought the spoiler from a fella on ebay (trimking1) and it looks great. Nice workmanship!
