with the elite package only 2 person can sit in the back..it sucks.!!

I agree, it's very bourgeoisie... I like the full bucket in the back.

The middle seat is for midgets anyway so I fail to see the use of it. I have a celica right now so the 4 seater is plenty roomy for me and it be nice to give heated seats to the people in the back. On the other hand might not be a big deal I'm thinking I'll miss having a manual so I'm going back and forth between a DPP SE and a Audi A4. Have to wait till I test drive them. Still I'll test drive a SL though.

it's all about the back bench seat... sad if u don't know why. the Max can easily fit 3 adults comfortably in the rear. heck, u can fit 3 child-seats and anchor them. I really like the 60/40 folding seats. perfect for my snowboard. imagine the cargo room with the rear down and passenger front all the way forward and down.

now if this was a company car for commutes, and u couldn't drive it, wouldn't you appreciate heated buckets and console in the rear?

It's rare I have two people in the car let alone 5 which is why I originally wanted the Elite Seats. Much nicer if I do have some regional reps in town that I need to drive around. However thats rare so I might go with a DPP SE to keep manual. Not sure going to test drive a DPP SE, SL, and a Audi A4.

Hi.

Just bought mine last weekend and spent two full days of haggling with the dealer on the price, walked out twice and went to another dealer locally to show him the already worked numbers we did at the other dealer. They said they couldn't match him and was about $1200 more so I finally ended up going back to the first one, talking them down yet another $250.00 from their previous best price and buying the car from them for a total of $26200.00 out the door which included TTT.

I thought it was a really good deal considering I knew their invoice price + destination charge and they still made their holdback on the car which was about $717.00 It certainly wasn't easy to barter with them though.

It is an 05 SE with just the Bose, Mats, Mudflaps options otherwise at the base configuration which is pretty impressive in itself to me.

All in all I feel for the price I paid which was only a few thousand more than their best price on an Altima I looked at, it was 10 times the car when I test drove them both.

Anyway I am extremely happy with the car and it is truly amazing how this Maxima is simply light years better than my other car which is a 2003 Toyota Canry.

Wow that sounds really cheap. Was it brand new? I can't imagine the dealer invoice even being that low for the 04.

It was used. I got my car from Enterprise Rental...they sell cars below retail, alot of people never think to go to them for cars (they don't advertise, it's mostly by word of mouth for they aren't "salespeople")....and you don't have to deal with the haggeling of the dealership because they are not in it to make sale or meet quotas, they make their money in rentals, but people like the rentals so much and encourage them to go into sales.
My Maxima was a executive rental...low milage (only had 15,000 miles on it) so it was a good deal.

That isounds like a great way to do it. I think I will try that when it is time for my wife to get another car. Really is a good price for the car with low miles o it like that.

I paid too much, but I got rid of a crappy 06 GT Mustang that Ford was refusing to fix, so I took it on the chin. They gave me 25k for my Ford which is what i paid for it, and i paid 3k in cash out the door for my fully loaded 06 SE, which had 6k miles on it as the managers demo and had never been titled, so 28.000 for my Max. Its unbelievable the trouble i had with that 06 Mustang, the entire driveline was junk and with only 3k miles on it the valves started coming out of it, and Ford dealers and Dearborn just jerked me off instead of fixing it. In 3 months with that Ford they had to pull the tranny to fix a leak, replace the entire CD player, and then the real troubles started with the valves, which they just shook their head and walked away from. I was going to trade it on a 350Z but decided to go with the Max because it had more room and nicer seats. Still vacillating on my choice, and seriously thinking about a Z or a G35/G37 because I miss the extra power.

Don't know if I got a good deal...
Got my new 07 Maxima SE about 2 weeks ago
It was one of those "3 at this price" in newspaper add

Only "options" were floor mat and splash guard. Silver exterior, and charcoal interior

It was $22,988, before tax and title. This include $3000 nissan rebate

The car had 16 miles on it before I test drove it

So far, loving it

This is a big step up for me (coming from a 1997 Accord LX 4 Dr with 280k miles on it)

I just got my 2004 Black SE for $18,995. Car has 30,007 miles on it. Dealer also put brand new tires on it. No leather but the bose and 2 moonroofs are awesome. I think it was a good deal. The cars in IMMACULATE condition.

I am new to the site and I love the Max. When I was looking for my new baby the were at leat 50 07 SE program cars. There went for no more than 26. I ended up finding a 06 SL with everything but sat for 23.5 with 16,000 on the od. I truely like it better than my 03 Z71 Tahoe. I had worked a great deal on an 07 or 24 but I didnt like the CVT. I have Dealer #'s if you can make it to Arkansas.

Been a long time since I've been back

Hey guys. It's been about 3 years since I've been on the site (so long I had to get a new user name and pass), but have a question for you all. I used to have a 5th gen 00 black Maxima and loved it. I currently have a 2007 Ford Fusion V6 (Company Car) and am looking to take a new job which will require me to purchase a vehicle. I would really like to get another Maxima, but am not to educated on the 6th generations. I know they started in 2004 and am looking for the best deal possible on a used one. I had 120k on my 2000 when I sold it and it ran beautifly. Can you recommend a certain year that I should look for? I know in 06 or 07 there was some modifications to the engine, but I don't see much difference other then they spoiler on the back of the 07's. Are there more problems with any specific years? I'd like to get one with about 30k on it.

Thanks a lot and glad to be back on the forum.

Jon

07 is CVT Transmission.

04 has many problems (first year of car).

If I were you, I'd go for an 06.
