New noise

My husband installed the Trenz grill last Friday and I've been hearing a noise ever since. It sound like it's coming from the outside of the firewall on the driver's side. I starts at about 25 mph, gets louder and faster as I accelerate but doesn't change or stop when I hit a bump in the road. The grill is a tad bit loose but I don't think that is it. It's almost like there is extra wind coming in thru the grill and it's making something flap around in there. Has anyone else noticed this?

It's probably the shroud over the radiator that he took off to install the grill. That's been reported by others. Make sure it's tight, otherwise you'll get some air making it vibrate like a musical reed.

Yup. There are four fasteners on it. I broke two putting my OEM grill back on for the winter, so the only two I had holding it down were on the outside edges. The shroud would vibrate like crazy any time I got over 50mph.

Thanks. My husband did break one of those. I'm due for my 75 k oil change so I'll buy some fasterners/rivets from the parts dept. I absolutely love this new grill. The big tooth was really bugging me. Plus, I haven't seen any other Maximas in my area with an aftermarket grill.

ttbeam - You have 75K miles on your 04? I thought I was doing too much "joy riding" and I have 19K on my 04. I guess I better get back on the road (smile)

Wow. A lot of miles for a new car. Only tractor trailers rack up that kind of miles so soon. What are you going to put all those miles on your car?
