Cleaning the display screen

What's the best thing to use to clean the display screen without scratching it? I haven't cleaned mine yet because I don't want it to get all scratched up, but it's getting dusty and has smudges.

Thx

I use a California Duster. Seems to work pretty well.

iKlear works great. Also used by Apple and Sony on their screens. http://www.klearscreen.com/

Hey, you're close by. Want one? I have a spare one. I'll be near PU next week...pending how this snow goes...

Microfiber cloth, and eyeglass cleaner.

Also Plexus works wonders on this kind of stuff. Its comes in a small spray can. Blue and white label. It leaves behind a thin coating that hides scratches too. Great stuff. And you use so little of it, that a bottle should last years.

I use a microfiber cloth that came with some Arnet sunglasses I bought. These are ususally very soft and work great, since they are essentially for the same purpose.

CMofo - Does that stuff work on the silver part of the interface cover (aka scratch magnet) which is around the screen/radio....what is that piece of plastic console called anyways?

I hate to admit I took my filthy car to a car wash (the nicest one in town where the average car costs twice what my max did) and everything was great, but there are some new scratches on my center console, esp that silver part. So I'm on the hunt around the forum for a way to protect it and hide existing blemishes.

Sure. Microfiber is great for cleaning everything. I will only use microfiber towels on my car when I'm waxing and polishing the exterior.

Just some friendly advice:

The screen on the 6th gen Maxima is very fragile, and extremely vulnerable to smudges and scratches.

The ledge in front of the display screen is mighty tempting as a place to lay something for a sec.

BUT DON'T.

Dont ever lay even a FEATHER on that ledge. And do not EVER let any part of your body (especially your finger) even come within a inch of the screen itself.

Based on the screen horror stories I read here a year or more ago, I promptly amputate any appendage anyone dares put within a foot of my screen. As a result, my screen is immaculate.

I very lightly dust the screen and ledge monthly with a super-soft static-resistant brush I found somewhere last summer. Nothing else has touched the screen.

I am not happy Nissan installed something so delicate in the Maxima. But they did, so I will play their game.

I've got so many scratches on my info screen it's not funny. And, the dealership cleaned behind it (to remove the mildew-ish stuff; even though I asked for a replacement under a TSB ??? ), and now it looks worse than ever.. I swear they used a brillo pad (and they left lots of dust behind it).

My dealer has ordered an entireley new screen for my Elite (not sure if it's just the kit for the TSB or an entirely new assembly (> $4K if they did)) and this is the second time that I have had it worked on - both for fogging - otherwise, the outside of the screen is pristine (microfiber of California duster only touches the screen). Will let you all know what the final outcome is when the screen comes in. They also ordered another (number 2) read deck replacement to deal with the "rattle" - arrrrrgh!!
