Like 31500 now...we're getting at that point...they'll look at them and tell me thay are fine, which they are. But they arent exactly how they were when the car had 5k on it. Ive seen pics of other car's HID's and it gets alot better...My dads car has a gorgeous deep blue hue to the whole pattern, however I think thats bc he has a reflector housing and D2R's..so you dont have an even comparison. Self leveling too.

ok let me clarify...im saying...no PIAA HID? and then I am wondering if is bc philips has a massive OEM business, so probobly makes a better product..PIAA is questionable and less known..I agree with the guy, whats so hard to understand about that? I get the impression PIAA is the best bulb there is, but i dont know about sinking that much dough into something i will never see in real life on a car unless I buy them.

Ok either I missed it or Im confused. I want to adjust my passenger side headlight up a little bit. It looks like when the shop put in my new headlight, they didnt properly adjust it. It looks a little to low for me. Anyway I want to move the beam up a little. Is this the "horizontal" or "vertical" screw? And where exactly is it? Thank you...

well, if that's true they are slightly yellowing, then the next pair will do he same. HIDs are supposed to die and turn a dull orange, not fade.

i think your eyes are finally adjusting to them. they seem so powerfully bright at first (which they are) then you get use to them. drive an older car (or any halogen) and you'll appreciate them again. I'm sure they're still as blinding to oncoming traffic.

i briefly felt bad for oncomers that see me at night. was at a light across from an Infiniti FX that was facing up hill. this was at 5pm and i was blind. he must have known of noticed b/c he cut them off until the green came and we both made out left turns.

that was nice b/c i wouldn't have done it. that shortens their life. i flashed my fogs to thank him.

as far as piaa HID, oem is the best i've seen on the road. why pay more?

I would just like to see these "technical specifications" and actual performance of different HID bulbs. I think Philips and Osram most likely have the best R&D and most money to make the best technology out there. I also read that some companies, particularly asian ones, are experimenting with different salts and different materials for the anode and cathode. I cant seem to find anything that is scientific

i posted this picture a while back for the bulbs.
look at the screw under "orange blinker bulb" ... that screw adjusts up and down.
the other screw (has a plastic cap over it) goes from left to right

04BlackMaxx you might have to visit the forum on hidplanet for a better comparison of the types of his bulbs (or any other site that deals with hid information). But I'm telling you that after reading about all the types of bulbs, the philips d2s is like the most recommended bulb.

New Zenon headlight assembly

Hi Everyone.

I have a question regarding the headlight assembly. I had a minor fender bender on the passenger side and had my Nissan dealer's body shop ( in house ) replace the HID Zenon headlight assembly. The newer bulb is white compared to my drivers side light which is blue and seems brighter. I asked the technician and he said that some newer zenon bulbs are white. Should I ask them to use my old bulb and keep the newer one as a spare? I know the newer one is definately not halogen since the two assemblies are unmistakeably different.
The older one is a year old. Do the newer ones change color over time? What is going on here and is the tech right?
Also I am going to have to ask them to adjust the angle of the beam as the new one is off.

Any help or ideas are welcome.
Thanx!

I'm gonna assume that you read the headlight aiming post thread after you posted this question. But yes the bulbs change color with age. You should ask to have your bulb back or a new one for the other side.

04SEelite - you seem very knowledgeable... with headlights for 2004-2006 max's. I have Non-HID headlights, does the Non-HID headlight fixture and the HID fixture have the same connectors to plug into the factory harness?I want to replace the Non-HID with HID OEM's... everything I have seen they look the same, can you verify? if it were possible to have one HID installed and one Halogen then I would say they should be the same connector, right?

I would be replacing the whole Assembly... if that helps. Also how do you get the assembles off the vehicle?

Thanks for your help!

how can i tell the difference between the factory xenon and halogen lamp assembly so i can order the correct hid kits? and you can find hid kits on DDMtuning.com that are slim ballasts and they are $35-55.

Hey I'm new on here, as yall can tell....ive got an 04 maxima and on the inside of one of my headlights a piece of plastic has somehow wiggled loose and kills my brights. I have seen that you need to take off the front bumper to take out the headlights...is this true?? is there an easier way to take out the complete headlamp setup??
