A lot of people here said that they wanted to chang the 04 interior trim to the 05 but did anyone actually do it?

No, I think he means swapping the cheap-o plastic trim from the 04 SE with the brushed trim from the 05 SE.

And no, I have not... I think it would be too pricey (I haven't even seen an 05 interior close up yet, so I'm not even sure what it really looks like yet either...).

Are you sure you aren't thinking of the G35? The 05 G35 has actual brushed aluminum trim while the 03 and 04 had painted plastic like us SE owners have.

I just went to www.nissannews.com and re-red the 05 description... and the new interior is a titanium-tinted trim and actual chrome door handles.

"titanium-tinted trim" that means plastic coating. they sure have a way with words! yes, the door handles are chrome, but the rest is plastic

last I checked, 05 had new "brushed alum." look compared to the smooth grey plastic of 04 which scratches very easily. Many of us considered swapping it, but I doubt anyone actually did it.

Brushed Aluminum dash kit coming out soon for 04-05 Max. In the template/prototype stages. It is almost done though.

do you have the 3rd power outlet by the shifter? b/c I've seen the first 05s at my dealer with the new shiny trim that also covered the cup holder door, where my lid is black.

I wouldn't be suprised it was a late addition to it as there was the Traction Control System that would be standard on all Maxima's starting with the November build. I wouldn't be suprised if something like the paint on the plastic changed during the same time frame.

I went an entire different route, not everyone likes it, but solved the scratch problem for me. Was not going to replace every interior trim piece for something that is still not real aluminum. I admit though, the 05 interior trim does look better than the 04. Right now, I am real happy with my trim. Have not seen another Max like it.

Did you remove the old pieces or glued the new ones on top of them ?

3M overlays. Good for the price and I am happy with it. There are other finishes available. Actually, took me some paitence to put it on, but well worth it. Black carbon would look good also. My stuff was getting scratched to hell before and I have no idea how. Dealer was not going to replace the interior for a few scratches so it kinda bugged me. Real happy with it. Not that expensive of a fix either.
