04/05 Nav ??

Sometimes I am on roads that do not have the line indicating it's a road, but the road name appears. Does anything need to be updated to get streets that were made after the system to show on the screen?

New streets will be on the new DVD (hopefully) when it comes out. Check which version you have, call Nissan and see if they have a new DVD yet. They make new DVD's every 1-2 years I believe, so I wouldn't get my hopes up right now. But it wouldn't hurt to call service up and ask them.

Here's the scoop..Version 6.2 is what most 04 Maxima's have. They have version 6.3 out that was released in October 2004. The company that handles this is Zenrin. They offer the dvd at $185+shipping. He told me there is a secret compartment under where my cds go in and out where you can eject the dvd to get the version. I did not know where it was. News to me. You can buy from Zenrin.com and the number to them is 800.777.0325

Atleast the road name appears..My streets here don't update that much..I should not need to upgrade by once every 5 years or so..Who cars about other states roads..I don't. It is BS that the DVD is $185 though.

or just buy it at that price, and if you have a dvd burner you can make copies and sell it at a cheaper price and then make back your money plus some after selling a few of them

...it's not located there. It's located where you put your change in. There's a little door back in that space. You'll have to run your fingers across it to find the little wedge, once you do open it and there's the DVD unit to place the Navi software.

Starting on page 4-11, "How to eject/insert the disc", from 2004 Maxima NAVIGATION Manual.
