i cant help but notice that when ever i drive at night, i can almost always identifiy a 6th gen because of the color of the lights. i was curious to find out what the factory capsules are rated at. thanks in advance.

Factopry D2S bulbs are 4100K Osram Xenarc Bulbs. I have the Philips D2S bulbs and the consenus says they work better than the Osram ones. The philips bulbs shine blue/purple just as well.
Projector and ballasts make it that color. Up close, you will see that the light is bright white.

i am alomst positive the blue is the reflection of the shutter. (why you see the blue line on the low cut-off) at least that's what the HID experts say about the color from bi-xenons.
maybe when bored, i'll position her to see the blue then flip the hi's on to see if this is true.

you are right carcus, the higher the K, the more blue/purple the color gets. which reduces the light output. Its illegal to have them that bright. (if you notice, the package of those types of lights will say "for use for offroad" )Be careful because the cops might give you a ticket. They are starting to come down on those types of lights.
