I remember last year when a whole load of 04 Nissans, mostly Maximas were hit by hail right after being manufactured. The dealership I worked at went down and bought a bunch of them from Nissan. Man those cars were messed up with little dents all over the place. The darker color ones looked the worst. We had to sell them as used cars and the customer had to sign a waiver acknowedging that they know the rust warranty was now void.

what if your car had a dent due to hail, will it be repaired under warranty?

That is not a warranty issue. You would have to take that up with your insurance company.

Hail is covered under your full automobile insurance policy. I have dealt with hailstorms several times and never had a problem with the insurance claims.

Its official: my Max has dents due to the hail this AM. I got 3 on the hood, 2 or 3 on the roof and maybe a couple at the back. well...that's life. The good thing is, my car is winter frost, so u can barely see the dent. I had to really look very close just to find the dents. I know there are a lot more people having worse car problems than I do, but Im just venting...sorry...

Try paintless dent repair. I had hail removed from my wife's car a couple years ago using this method and it was amazing!

this is a local service...look in the yellow pages...it usually involves a guy coming over to your house and fixing the dents. Last summer we had a bad hail storm that totaled my friends car. He had it fixed via paintless dent removal. Looks good as new. This usually works for minor dings and dents.

Sucks to hear about the hailstorm. Thankfully nothing really major happened to the car as I have seen some pretty bad aftermaths of hail. Try getting the dings removed by trying out some of the methods/remedies others listed.

Try Dent Wizard. http://www.dentwizard.com/ The shop I went to here did an excellent job for me on a couple of door dings. I have never heard anything bad about them either.

Nismo3point5 - It was almost TWO years ago (May, 2003) when the hailstorm in Smyrna wiped out a few thousand new Maximas. This was particularly devastating, as the '04 Maxima had only been out two months, and the dealers were still trying to build their inventory.

As a result of that hailstorm, all dealers stopped giving good deals for over two months, and my dealer never had more than two '04 Maximas at any one time for almost two months (he normally carries between twenty and thirty Maximas).

Speaking of hailstorms, north Georgia was raked with them for around six hours Monday. Pea sized hail was everywhere. Many areas had dime and quarter size hail, and lots of folks from several counties sent the TV stations pics of lawns covered with tennis ball sized hail.

The hail was so deep on I-85 that the highway department had to bring out the scrapers and spread salt and sand. To put this in perspective, the temperature at the Atlanta airport at the time was 71 degrees. It was 72 at my home. This was a very unusual situation, to say the least.

It was like $80 for a ding less than the size of a dime. They have a chart in their offices that they use to determine the price based on the size of the dent. I don't know how much your insurance deductible is but with mine being $100 I saved around $20 by getting them to do it myself.

An estimator from the insurance company just saw my wife's 01 Altima and estimated the damage due to the hail last Mon. He qouted $2000 for the hail damage! Man! That's a lot of moolah just for the dents! I havent had mine estimated yet because I was at work. Maybe tomorrow...

I got a better one!

We had hail here in the Mojave desert! It was the very small kind that didn't do any damage to my Max! (Phew!)

I have seen that dent repair it is amazing! Hope your Max is back to normal soon.
