New 20" Rims Question

Hey guys, I was just wondering what the disadvantages of putting on 20 inch rims on the max were. For one, i know what the ride will be harsher, but is it really that bad? Im thinking about getting some, but im still unsure if the trade-off between comfort and looks is worth it. What do u guys think?

DUbs are heavier and therefore slow the car down May be harder on ur suspension, and wheel bearings. I went with wider 18s that weigh much less. Its ur personal opinion though. If u like the big wheel look, have at it. There are a lot of nice looking dubs out there.

Trust me the ride isnt as bad as you think. Actually the ride isnt bad at all to me. Still smooth and comfortable.

It really all depends on where you live.

Ride is not that bad, even with the SE suspention. Also, as stated, depends on the road conditions of where you live. The replacement charge for tires is not cheap for a set of 20" though when they wear out. They do look nice though.

I won't put on 20's here in Brookly, NY, the streets here are screwed up. I have 18' chrome rims and lowered the ride. For me that is good enough. Later Warren

Well normally the road conditions here in LA are not too bad. Recently it has been a little bad with the potholes because of an unusually high rain season this year. Once the weather clears up and those roads get patched up again, i think i will pick some 20's up.

hehe, I am origionally from LA, before I joined the military. You should be fine with 20" rims in LA, hell, if I have them with little problem in Biloxi.....LA should be just fine.

I'm leaning towards putting the Foose Spank 5's on my SE. Getting a great deal on some 20's but I'm nervous. My wife is complaining but what does she know right? (smile) Here are the rims.

I agree, they would look great. I was a little worried about your choice at first because they showed the width on the 20" to be 10". Then I saw that the car version had a width of 8.5".

Boone - that 10" had me worried also but my guy told me that he had a 8.5 version for cars. I think they will look really nice on the MAX once all this snow and winter goes away.

I say go with them...nice builder of rims and the V8 guys like them also. If you can get a nice deal on them....20"....grab them and run.

Jaymaxx, those rims are smokin! If you have the $$, get em. I for one would love to see them on a Max. Gotta think they would gel great with the majestic blue.

Pony up!!

I have been looking at the rims lately and i noticed that some say FWD and others say RWD. In truth, is the real difference between these rims? shouldnt they fit if they are the correct size?

I think the main difference between them besides the size of the wheel is the offset.
