Bluetooth & iPod kits?
I'm looking for a bluetooth kit for my '04 Max. Anyone know of any or even better, installed one?
Oh, and recommendations on iPod kits also welcome. I really want display on the console and manipulation via steering wheel controls.

I'm considering the Parrot CK3100. I have the Treo 650 and I'd like to use it as a hands free phone.
Haven't really looked into the MP3 kits. Is the IPOD the best way to go? I am not interested in the cassette adaptor or an FM modulator.
Thanks,
Gouldscane!

Oh yeah, I should have mentioned I'm not interested in a cassette adaptor or FM modulator either.
I think iPod is probably your best bet, just because they're so friggin' popular, so lots of companies are making accessories for them. I haven't done that much research yet (as indicated by the question I'm asking), but people do seem to have iPod accessories coming out their ears.
I'm hoping there's an iPod kit that can just hook up to the satellite connectors, but I'm not holding my breath.

Well, Peripheral Electronics is the company that makes an adaptor that will connect your ipod to your factory stereo. I don't know if they make an interface for the 04+ maximas yet but, they do make them for alot of cars.
Your best bet might be to get the rca input adaptor for the SAT button. This will give you a better sound compared to the fm modulator or cassette adaptor but, you will have no control over your ipod through your factory controls.
I'll update you guys when I find out from my sales rep.

Bluetooth would be awesome. I've got a Nokia 6310i and a Palm T3 that both have it. Unfortuneately I've never heard of an aftermarket Bluetooth adaptor. I know Nokia makes a handsfree Bluteooth unit for cars, but it is terribly expensive. A simple Bluetooth headset would be a much better alternative.

happy shopping!
Careful with this stuff... I heard on the news the other day that there is a virus going around that is being passed around through the bluetooth technology. Hope it doesn't have a way of getting into car's computer system.

Cabir and Lasco.A both need a Series 60 phone and bluetooth to propagate, in addition to one very stupid user prone to just installing apps that he gets over bluetooth for no damn reason. Granted, leaving bluetooth on all the time makes you more likely to end up receiving one of these things, but if you have any common sense at all chances are that you won't be installing them any more that you would run an executable you get over e-mail from parties unknown.
Well, at least I don't click on any of those anyway...

But either way... I've had bluetooth enabled on my SE T616 since I got it last year, every day, and I've yet to come across any sort of bluetooth shennanigans (snarfing, jacking, virus, etc). Your car will probably never EVER get infected, and chances are that you won't be in range of anyone for long enough for your phone to get infected -- or at least the risk won't be any greater than it is now.
