clearcorners.com are working on some for the G35....they look OK. I have seen a few Honda guys bake them at 260 degrees in the oven for a bit, then take them apart to paint. Anyways, this is all I have for the G35 to give you a real idea. They have different lights, but process should still be the same. Bet if you emailed them, they might do a project on the Maxima....never know.

With angel eyes installed also.

Hopefully this will give you guys a better picture, personally I like the chrome BLING look, but you all know me by now. Just doing the best I can to help out as usual.

Hey Deus, i don't think that you should cover the DRL area of your head lights. You never know...you might come up with some cool idea one day and have to go through double the trouble to mod because you blackened that portion. One idea i had for example, was to put whelen strobes in there when i become a cop. BUT i probably will not have my Max by that time.

It is kind of controversial, that portion serves no real purpose to the US owners. It will surely look different from all other sixth gens' if you cover it up though. But if its serving no purpose doesnt bug you, then i think you should leave it. Like i mentioned above...you never know what you might think up one day.

I was thinking of just tinting the DRL lense. If I ever used it, the light would shine thru the tint ,like my tinted tails.

Those G35 headlamps are sweet. Now if we can get them to work on ours. I was wondering about "angel eyes" for the 6th gen. My brother has them on his 5th gen and it looks so bad @ss! Wish we can get something done for ours...

Basically the flourecent bulbs around the headlights. They look so good at dusk and at night alone but look better with the combo of the HIDs. (These are pics w/out the headlights on.)

Was going to start the light project today, but I need a LARGE block of time to do it right. Wasnt able to find it today. Ill keep shooting for a weekend until I can find the block of time. I am going to have to remove the whole front of the car just to get those damn lights out, which is what is holding me back here. If someone can dig up detailed instruction on removing the lights, and a time estimate, Ill dig up the courage to roll on it.

I liked them on my 328IC BMW also....the cops did not that much though, never got a ticket....but am sure the new owner has one. My unit on the BMW was a full replacement headlight kit.

umnitza are the pros at this, but so far, seem only to cater to Altima guys in the Nissan crowd. They do make some good stuff. Not really sure how I feel being an ex-BMW guy with the angel eye thing on Honda and Nissan though....they look cool, but are out of place in a way. Kinda a BMW thing. Not hating on Nissan either, just....well, you know what I mean.

Black isnt the only color to paint headlight chrome. Check out the red Ferrari 612 headlights in this website wiht headlight trim painted red. I saw one today parked in front of Spago's. WOW. If I had a red Max, this iswhat I would do. Im gonna do it on my black one of course. http://www.exoticcarsite.com/image.p...aglietti-7.jpg

Dont the new corvettes have the inner housing matching the body color? Im still wanting to black mine out. I had jdm One piece headlights on my old 92 prelude and it was the best appearance mod. Ive never thought about painting them the color of the car...

I thought black was only color for headlight trim until I saw this Ferrari tonight. I want ot make the chrome glossy black to match my Onyx paint.

Matching body paint headlight assemblies surely look awsome. What about the liquid silver SEs'... would you guys recommend matching body color, or a black/carbon look?

Black would be "safer" but try photoshopping silver. I love the body color look. Very cool and more unique. Id love to see someone photoshop a red opulent Maxima with red headlight chrome.

Yep...for some reason, they are not messing with the 6th gen Max...they do alot for the 5th gen Max and the Altima though.

Well I just talked to the body shop, they said they will be replacing my front passenger headlight. I dont think it was really damaged but they said theyll be replacing it anyway. I asked them to keep the headlight for me for a spare. Once I get it, Ill be starting my experiment on opening the headlights up and beginning the projects on modding this damn complicated headlight. Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated guys, thanks.

I need to get photoshop so i can play with it, looks like fun. Im sorry but that new scaglietti is not a pretty car in the least, the 550 maranello is 10x hotter looking. Yeah, body color max headlight interiors..sweet idea in theory, but does anyone have the guts to do this to perfectly good (expensive) headlights?

I want to do it to my Black Max, but I want to make sure its not too hard to remove the light and bake in the oven at 250 for 10 min.

BLAXIMA2K4: I have thoght long and hard about how to mod the headlight. I think putting a clear side reflector in place of the yellow side reflector is a good idea. All the chrome not inside near the lights, should be blackened. U sand the chrome to roughen it up with 1000 grit, and then prime and paint. I think gloss paint is what Im gonna use. There is some dispute as to the lense above the foglight, since its the DRL in Canada, but not used in this country. I was thinking of three choices - 1. U could leave it alone, 2. Tint it with spray tint, or, 3. Paint it black like the chrome. I think it will be hard to tape the inside of the turn signal area cuz the tape needs to be straight. U want the chrome inside so it reflects. Im not sure Im clear on what Im saying. Anyway, those are my thoughts. Let me know what u think.

I just went on junkyarddog.com trying to locate a pair of damaged headlight assemblies, see how much they will run me. I am waiting for responses If they are cheap i will probably buy the pair and practice on them. And if the chrome pieces on them are in perfect condition, and my practicing turns out "great" I will probably put those pieces on my Max. I do not mind spending the extra couple bucks, that way I can screw up and not have to worry about damaging my whatever many hundred dollar lamp.

Baking the headlights shouldnt be a problem. Me and my brother baked his headlights for his 5th gen max with HIDS, no problems, we just kept it at a very low temp. and kept checking on them.

Everything else you said are my exact thoughts of what I wanted to do also. I will be sanding, priming, and painting. Ill learn from my mistakes, if I make any. Maybe get an idea of some "angel eyes" for us 6th genners.
