Tapping Noise...(any ideas)
(2004 SE Auto)
Well, I'm currently at 35,122 mi which means warranty time is almost up. Today when coming back from lunch I noticed a slight tapping noise coming from the rear of the car drivers side. I'm almost positive its coming from somewhere near the wheel. This sound is very faint and can only be heard while pressing on the accelerator.
Any suggestions?

Sounds like it may be a broken hanger or something. Your description is still a little vague. Try to get all the details down as to when it happens like the RPM's and/or speed. Several of us on here have an buzz/rattle from under the hood of the car at 1800 rpm which occurs in 2nd gear. There is also a TSB out for the heat shield...this may be the cause of it too...look back several pages...i posted a link to the TSB.
Be careful on the words you choose to describe the problem with a dealer...i will try to find how Nissan defines noises and post it here.
When was the last time you had your tires balanced? perhaps that may be part of the problem. Look at the tire itself...are there any big rocks stuck in the tire? The RSA picks up stones very easily.

Thanks for the info so far... It seems to be around 1800- 2000rpm. I was driving up a few levels in the parking garage when I heard it. (But it also occurs when I'm driving slow on a flat road)
