I wanted a mesh grill in black also. I would really wait because I think active tuning is gonna do something nice. Their 05 altima grill just came out and it looks awsome. Now their moving onto our car soon.

Its funny, Pal, I have seen ur car dozens of tmes but for some dumb reason didnt notice the grill. It looks great. We seem to have the same taste. Have u thought abt painting it black? How do you like it. Was it easy to install?

i knew that was what was coming from under my grille. there was friggin some sort of weave 1/2" wide coming out. had the dealer get it out.
"Don't know what it was. Must of been from the road. But we took care of it for you"
Man it was double sided duct tape.

I like chrome and all... but for mesh on Onyx, I think black mesh would look 10x better. My Nissan pride would force me to get the emblem powder coated black too. Hotness.

Awesome front grill! I think what really makes that pic sweet though is the bumper. Too bad nobody makes that as a kit...

That grill is HOT!!! I agree, black grill on an onyx car would be very nice. That PS is HOT and would be HOTTER with a mesh grill at the bottom too IMO.

I painted the OEM grille myself and it chipped to $hit so bad in just a few days i took it off and put a trenz grille on with an emblem. Maybe if i took the grille to a shop they'd paint it so its reliable? I put like 2 cans of clearcoat on the thing too, i was pretty dissapointed. Yeah, the Altima Active tuning grille is gorgeous, reminds me of something ive seen on an aftermarket VW golf grille. Knowing me ill prolly end up gettin sick of my chrome bling grille soon and getting whatevers out next that looks hot.

If you used Krylon, maybe it is not as good as body shop paint. Also, did u prime it before u applied it? Painting the OEM grill is not a bad alternative. Its better than the bling chromeand really doesnt look good with my bronze rims. I have the Street Scene grill on hold at Stillen. Ill get it Tuesday

already have a 5th gen bumper being prototyped, will go into production soon. Your eyelids will be easy if someone can make a nice chop that everyone likes. A new 6th gen bumper hmmmmmm

I'd imagine that the pic above is something that AT may come out with. I love what they have done with the grilles for the altima. The streetScene Grille doesn't look right imo. Just some mesh sorta floating there. I did that on my $9k 96 altima I had...I'm not putting that on my $30k maxima. Just looks cheap to me. I'll wait for AT

I could very well be wrong but.....looking at Stillen's website and looking at the pic, it looks like there is no trim around it. If there is, it is very small. To me it looks like a cut piece of mesh put over a hole. It doesn't do anything but cheapen the front of the max imo. For those that have it, to each their own. Everyone has their own tastes. Now if it was actually like a real grille with a tim, something like what AT does for the Altimas, then yea......in plain words it doesn't look finished and it looks sloppy. Not my idea of a good looking grille for a 30k+ vehicle.

you are right, there is no trim around the grille. I'm so used to seeing the active tuning grille on altimas that when they come out for it for the max, it will look too much like an altima grille.

but IMO any grille is better than the stock one-

I wsas examining my fridnds Mercedes E55 which has a lowerr mesh grill and it has not trim either, but it looks great. It is also painted black. I think once the Street scene grill is painted black, it will sharpen it will be even better, IMHO.
