New MOMO Shifter- F16

Finally got the new one in...the Momo F16.

Here is the Combat Evo

The F16 feels MUCH better in the hand than the Combat Evo did. I almost like the looks of the Evo better, but I just couldnt get used to the bad feel of it. Something I didnt think about with the Evo, the need for the "roundness" to rest the hand on.....maybe just me, who knows?

The F16 fits lllllike a glove!

BTW, In case you didnt see last weeks post, I did cut down the shaft about an inch and a half. It just rode WAY too high for me. Maybe not the smartest thing to do...but I figure I will just turn it in eventually with the Momo.

good pics. looks like when mines "falls off" I might go with the top one there. It'll go good with my black interior.....

altho the bottom one brings the color of the trim to it. the bottom matches better, but if it don't feel right can't go with it...

I think it was a good idea to cut the shaft, i personaly do not like how lengthy it is. Your new shifter looks better to me.

when you cut down the shaft, i guess you had to rethread the end of the
shaft. how did you make thread on the shaft? did you have to part it out
to rethread it?

thanks

To thread the shaft you can get a tap and die set. The question that i have is; Are the shafts for the manual and automatic Maximas the same diameter...? Does anyone know?

Nice pics!!

You're probably the first to cut the stick... I like it, looks so much better!

Too bad no one with manual stick has been cut... I'd love to see the shortened stick for manuals...

BTW, is there anyone with new shift **** for manuals? Are we limited in getting those ***** since ours require that special pull when reversing?

Thanks guys, I figured that since about every other Max has their shifter coming apart these days?!?!?.......this thread might be helpful.

No threading on the automatic. Just a straight bar. The Momo shifters come with good kits, 6 differnt sized "washers" and screws go into them. Tight fit.

Hopefully you can see it in this pic- the cut piece has a tighter fit at the top for the OEM, but the Momo will fit even if you dont want to shorten the stick.

Sounds like the manuals might be different? My guess would be that even if there was threading, the Momo washers would go right on them, and the screws would hold it in place. Im not positive by any means....anyone know for sure??
