I got my short shifter!!

Got it from steve through ebay. I installed it yesterday and it took me about 20 minutes to install....that's while being clueless the whole time.

The throw is ALOT shorter now. All the top gears are just a nudge away (1,3,5)! The bottom gears seem to require a little bit more of a throw than the top gears but, it's definitely shorter than before.

It does take a little more effort to get the tranny in gear but, nothing too extreme. I like it overall..I'd recommend it to anyone with a 6 spd!

Maybe it's time for a shorter stick and a new ****...we'll see! The other shift **** thread has got me thinking!

First, congrats on your STS!!
Second, let us know if you do cut the stick..
Third, I went to Autobacs today and was told that they don't know and have any ***** for our Maximas, because of the reverse pull on the ****... Let me know if you hear otherwise...

1. Thanks!

2. I'm really thinking about it....who knows what the weekend brings...hehe!

3. Yeah, I checked the reverse lock-out system out. All it is is a plastic wall, sort of, that stops the stick from going into reverse. If you really wanted, you could shave the wall down and the stick will go into reverse without having to use the lock-out system. Now the only bad thing about that is if you miss 6th and hit R...

If you pull up the shifter boot, you'll see what I'm talking about. If you do shave the wall down, you can use any shift **** out there.

Maybe, I'll take a pic so, everyone can see what I mean.
