Yo Frisco!

Nice pics man, that interior is so freaking cool. Does the steering wheel share the same color? Got any pics of the dash?

Actually no. It's black. Only the seats are orange and the rest of the interior( dash, steering wheel, etc. ) are black. It's a lovely contrast and looks as hot as burnt orange on an onyx car. Wait a minute, it is. Lol.

I have big dreams and small $$$. Lol. School is a bear. Actually, probably next month I'll start with the sound system. Clarion head deck(DXZ955MC), 2 Eclipse 6.5 component sets, replace the 8" subs with better ones, and new amps.

Exterior, I'd like dubs but I am scared of the tire prices. Might just replace with aftermarket 18" rims. I also like those Stillen side skirts. Who knows what's in store.

Frisco,

I hear ya, wish I was loaded, and could buy all the mods. Then again, if I was I probably wouldnt be driving a Max!?!?!

Go for the rims first, the stock sound is good enough for now, dont ya think? Rims make the biggest difference, and you dont need to get 20's. I was going to get some new 18's and use my stock tires, but I found a great deal on Ebay (1/2 price) and went with 19's. They are the perfect fit, IMO.

Actually, no one has my rims (Axis sevenmods) in the Onyx yet. I bet they would look hot on yours (assuming youre not into chrome bling)

Check out Blaxima also, his rims are smokin!

I dig your rims Jayz. I don't want to steal your rim idea but those are pretty hot. I hear tires for 19's are more expensive that 20's. Have you found that to be true or did your great deal on Ebay include the tires?

Dont worry about stealing ideas. I saw AndyMax's sevenmods and had to get them. There are thousands of choices of course. I preferred the deep lip with no bling. Just my taste.

Not sure about 19's costing more than 20's. Never heard that before.

I got rims off Ebay, private seller, guy out in Cali. We talked quite a few times establishing trust, and then doing the deal out of Ebay. Basically, when he gave me the tracking numbers and reciepts (pics) I wired money to him. It was a smooth deal.

Almost brand new (1,000 miles) for half price. $750 for rims. I then found a local guy for slightly used tires. 1/2 off again, paid $500.

I had a good experience. Some others havnet, really depends on who your dealing with, but you can be safe about it.

You know, I was thiking the same thing except I see quite a few 6th gens out this way. I thought it was just me overstating that in my head. You tend to notice your car on the road.

I see lots of 4th and 5th gens in Houston. Not too many 6th gens though, and im on the road alot in outside sales.

When I do see a 6th gen, of course my eyes are drawn to it. Max-radar is always on. I actually have not seen one with rims or any mods though. Weird in a city of 4 million....

Hey Frisco,

Check these rims out. They are Davids (on Cardomain) They would look good on your ride, if youre into black.

I dont know anyone who doesnt love that color, yet I had absolutley no luck in finding an Onyx/Burnt orange when I was ready to buy. Was going to factory order but my buddy talked me out of it cause he said a I don't wash my cars enough, and Black is a ***** to keep lookin sharp Nice combo!

This might tick you off but I went in looking for onyx or smoke on black. This is the only onyx Max they had. I actually disliked the burnt orange leather when I saw it online but once I saw it in person, I knew I had to have Monty Max.

I'm not a big fan of black rims, at least not all black. Maybe some nice polished rims or maybe even chrome. I know some of you HATE chrome but I think it's pretty hot on the max.

So I hear but I have never been one to conform to trends. I usually set them. But with so nicely modded 6th gens, I probably won't end up with anything remotely original.

Do you know what those rims weighed? What were the brand of the defective ones, and what was the defect? I love those old ones you had, 20x8? The more I see cars without a kit...the more I think it does not need one.

Frisco, you havent heard?? Black is the new chrome!

Actually, what made me think of that car with the black rims is the color is similar on the outside to your interior. Hmmm....those rims in burnt orange?
You said you wanted to be original!!
