Elevate it to Customer Care

If you are waiting for a screen kit for your foggy dash info / nav screen, wait no more...I had mine on order since December, 04, along with another rear shelf kit for the rattle TSB - the shelf has been here since the 1st of February, (Elite with Screen), but the screen kit has been on National Back-Order for months. I asked the salesman who I bought the car from if there was anything that they could do to expedite the delivery of the part to fix my foggy screen for the second time, and he indicated that he would elevate the order to Customer Care. Guess what - the part arrived last Friday, installing it Thursday of this week along with another back deck. Hopefully this will stop the two issues once and second for all.

Will let you all know how it turns out - but for now - if you are waiting for the part - have the dealer elevate it with Nissan and hopefully you will get it before your warranty goes south. Guess it's the Squeaking Wheel theory...

so what exactly do they change out for the sunscreen rattle? You make it sound like the entire rear shelf gets changed, is this correct? I also have the elite package and have caught the sunscreen rattling a couple times, but nothing regular yet. I bought the car used with 5700mi on it, and the only thing visually wrong with it is a small section of felt jacked up on the rear shelf, like a kid was messing with something up there or something. If the rattle comes back at some point while I'm near a good service dept that wont just run it through and say nothing is wrong, it may be a good way to fix the only blemish.

what rattles? the screen itself, or the back deck? I haven't noticed a problem with mine.

My mechanic at the dealer makes the call on the parts that get ordered for the fix - this will be the second rear deck assembly (shelf and screen) that he has put in the car to address the rattle, along with the TSB fix - we'll see. I have also noticed the back high-mount stop light hitting the inside of the rear window. Could be the root cause but with every rear deck the stop light seems to get moved back from the window a bit -maybe this time they'll get it right.
