Besides a cheap stock shift ****....my only problem is with dealership service. No leaks with the sky view....and I like it also....well, had the glove box issue...but 2 minute fix, done. Never had any mechanical issues so far with the car. Going on 7500 miles.

I feel your pain. Hate to say it but I have been through all of those but 1 and 7 plus:

11. Shimmy in front wheels 40-50 mph cruising
12. Shimmy in front wheels 60-40 mph braking
13. Rear deck lid rattle
14. Rattle above passenger seat
15. Front grille clearcoat peeling
16. Passenger door trim misaligned
17. Driver seat creak
18. Wheel paint pitting/corrosion, suspect dealer fault
19. 6 Disc changer replacement (3 times)
20. Cluster lid "C" misaligned
21. Rattle in driver door
22. Burnt out xenon

The car has been in the shop, on average, every 5 weeks, since I bought it. I have 25,000 miles on it. There are only 2 reasons why I don't get rid of it: 1) Everything is under warranty and 2) I love driving it. Nothing like that VQ!!!!!!

It is the petty little cosmetic crap that is irritating, but the feeling you get when you are pushing it.....mmmmmmm (Homer) Open Road!!!!

Hello lemon law.

The 04 I test drove w/ 24k miles, did not have one single problem, except for the bubbling chrome grille... But then again, the previous owner might have taken care of some of the probs.

Lemon law won't work if he's only had stuff fixed once. You could try the magnuson moss warranty act with a lawyer....not worth the time though. Read through this to see what your options are...

The only problem I had were cracks in tires which was a goodyear problem and only cost me 227 dollars for 4 new tires. Not bad for a car that just broke 36,000 miles a few weeks ago. Make sure you check your tires next time the car is on a lift. Later Warren

About a month ago I read of a fellow 6th genner with the same list of problems. He got an attorney involved and had Nissan buy the car back. If you search for the thread you will find it. If you are serious about this, you can likley cash out, as did he. Good luck, mang...

I hope my '05 will be better. You guys are scaring me. I just got back in a Max since trading my '98 in on a Chevy Truck. This '05 is awesome so far but hey, I haven't even hit 1000 miles on it yet.

Don't let this scare you. We tend to hear a lot more about the bad sutuations with earlier 04s than the disproprotionate number of successfull situations.
Enjoy your Max !

JPBOSS, yes these was a recall on the skyview roof but that was only on certain vin numbers. Some members had problems with their struts and some other troubles. Even with these problems I have not heard of two many people selling their Maximas. Personally the only problem I have had was with cracks in my tires that were found during a oil change when I broke 36,000 miles and Goodyear took care of that problem. I love my Max and do a lot of traveling. Have fun with your Max. Later Warren

Exactly.

I traded my 98 max for my 05 Max. The 98 gave me little trouble. Anything that broke was my fault. Remember guys no car maker get it right the first year. Some never do. I took a chance with the 05 bieng that it's the second year run. I feel bad for you gus that are having so many issues. So far so good here but the milage is too low to comment. After a year on the NYC streets I'll let ya know. In the mean time the carBque remark is how I would feel too if all that stuff happend to mine. Good luck man!
