thats alot of work.. for starters you will have to move the whole exaust to make room for the shaft, prob have to move the motor to the straight way, and too many things to list..wow...

I would like to see this done and the money wasted...

With FWD you can't pass 300 HP and be comfortable steering. This leaves no other alternative but AWD. RWD sux in the snowq and rain with alot of HP. If I had it like that I would try and do it. My friend just got an AWD VW V8. I can't wait to beat on it. Oh did I type that. He he.

VW are really slow..most models..except the phanteom??<---------wrong spelling.but i drove all VW models..cuz i worked at VW used car dealer for a while ..they suck IMO..and audi's also SUCK IMO...except off course the S series ...but the TT and A4 A6 seemed really slow also...turbo lags crazy on 1.8t and 3.0 really doesnt have the real touque like our maxi;s.BTW VW and AUDI has almost same interior..and engine is complety same..but audi's msrp is 30%more..compare to same models.

I wouldn't knock on all Audis. The previous group of cars were pretty good also. The A6 and S4 bi-turbo all wheel drive quattro. My friends have those and they picked up really well when they were stock. With just a chip, they almost double the boost and let's just say it's a lot more fun than a front wheel drive car when going through the winding mountain roads.

I would think that working at a VW dealer you would learn to appreciate their vehicles.

The 1.8T engine is well designed to begin with. There is some turbo lag, but its not terrible. There are tons of bolt on modsthat are available for that engine. The VR6 is also nothing to look down on. A good amouint of torque and HP in a small package. Please remember that a 2 door Golf GTI VR6 is a fast fast car and will give nearly any Maxima a run for its money.

Yes VW does have issues with electrical problems and windows regulators. But they're no more troublesome than what Nissan sells. If the Maxima was trouble free and perfectly built and designed, everyone would own one.

That being said..I still love my Maxima and would not trade it in on a Jetta or Golf.

yes i understand you opinion...BUT IMO..when i first drove the VW and Audi car's.."it wasnt quite like i expected" that was my impression..i hought the car would be much faster and stuff..but it wasnt..and im talking about stck cars..not bolt ons..cuz if we talk aboput bolt ons..we can get a $10k used civic and give anther $10k and about 300 more HP/...than its different story..and the Golf..is a small *** car..and will not keep up with our maxi's..i know for sure...those things are slow..AUTO maxi will burn a MANUAL golf..put it hat was.

The only turbo Ive driven was a Volvo S80 T6..car did not feel like a rocket...and the car felt very disconnected with the road or something...it just wasnt for me, and way too plasticy inside, you think the max is bad, check out the interior of one of those. I think it was a 1999 or 2000.

Edit: I tst drove a 1998 Jaguar XJR sedan. I had a female salesperson and my dad with me...so i didnt really see what it could do. It had awesome pull on the highway from 40MPH though, and a swooshing sound. You think the maxima is noisy inside, this car was even less dampened...i dont know if it was the tires or what but the ride was a joke.

Audi has a 2 stage for spooling on low and spooling on high rpm so there is almost no noticeable lag.

I loved my Passat but hated VW (and went lemon...thanks to the coilpack fiasco). I'd love to get an S4 or A6 v8 as their interior and body quality is far better than the Japanese.

"if you could put the electronics of the Nissan/Honda/Toyota into the engineering of Audi/Mercedes/BMW, the car would be the definitive sports sedan" and call it Axis...

So true. German cars are just put together better, Jap cars have the best electronics. Lets get a 740 IL with a Infinity harness and put a Hemi in it.

I just test drove a Chrysler Crossfire today, and it was aweful... it made the Maxima interior luck super-luxurious (waaay too much cheap-looking silver plastic). Not only was the interior bad, but it didn't have as much power as I would have expected (I think the 350Z would easily beat it). Granted, I didn't have the SC'ed version.

So, I have a really hard time buying into the whole 'German cars are better' mentality.
