Foglights - Are they easy to replace?

Both my foglights have apparently blown so I need to get them replaced. Dealership wants $140 cdn just for labour plus the parts which I think is either $20 each or for both can't remember.

If someones changed them and can give me a general idea as to how to replace them I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

I sometimes think Nissan purposely put stuff in hard to reach places in this car so the dealerships make money on labor costs... I could have sworn there was a write-up on the fog lights, but IIRC you have to take apart like half the engine bay to reach them...

Well maybe not that much, but its a lot of work...

My passenger side fog blew again 3 weeks after the dealer replaced it... I'm going back because I'm still under warranty, but if they keep doing that after the warranty is up it's gonna suck large.

I just checked the write up under the HOw to sticky and it looks pretty easy. Shouldn't take too long. I can't belive the dealerhsip is charging me so much.

Bulbs are not covered under the 3year 36,000miles warranty are they?

Pretty much everything should be covered in the 3 year 36k miles warranty. "Bumper to bumper" should mean just what it says.

well that may be a Canada vs US situation. but I asked when buying and my salesman called service and they said yeas all bulbs are 3/36k miles.

yeah, I asked my dealer how much to change bulbs, one guy said no way oem only another said $30!! that's just for labor.

call Nissan and see what they say.

Hmmm I think the bulbs are covered under the bumper to bumper warranty. I could call my service dude and find out for sure. Could be because you're young that they see an easy mark to make some money on.

I've even had rotors and pads replaced under warranty at 35,000km. So a cheap bulb should not even be an issue.

Take out the warranty manual and look up to see what is exculded. There should be a list of what is warranty and what is not.

Stocks should be covered, I know my dealer won't touch them after they've been changed from stock though.
Are you planning on upgrading the fogs or just staying stock?
The sticky is precise on how to get to them, it's tight but pretty easy.
I upgraded to the Piaa H3 yellow fogs and have been very happy with them:

I think the OEM bulbs are only about $4 each...if you got an hour or so its not so bad to do it yourself either

well i have "blown my fogs" about three times already, every time replacing them myself just gotta remove the intake, however there is definitely a short somewhere cause i have finally figured it out that the fuses are blowing...i replaced four fuses in one try and they blew as soon as i turned the fogs on therefore must be a short i assume

you need your dealer to look this so they can fix it. or you'll be changing bulbs until you stop using your fogs or sell it.

One of my Super Plasma H3 bulbs is out. The filament looks like its intact but the bulb has a foggy mist color. Is the bulb out?? Is there an issue with heat using these aftermarket PIAA bulbs??

I just want to see if anyone else is having issues before I keep spending 55+ bucks on new sets of foglights.
