Thinking about aftermarket nav for the Max...

I am thinking about an aftermarket nav unit for the Max, I got about $1000 to spend on it. What are some of the best ones out there? I do not want a dash installed one. I am looking for one that can be removed if need be. I know a few people out there have some. I want to shop smart and get the best one the first time so counting on all the experience out there. Also any pics of them in your vehicle or mounting options would be appreciated. Thanks all.

I know MikeTX has one because this is his.
Right now I am looking at this StreetPilot 2620, seems like it is the best one out there so far with a hard drive. I like the TomTom also, not sure though. I have the money burning a hole in my pocket.

Nothing from the peanut gallery? I am just a few clicks away from buying the StreetPilot 2620.

I bought my wife a MAGELLAN 700 GPS System, and we use it on either of our cars when we go on a road trip. So far, its been 99.99% accurate...

Does anyone have any suggestions for an in-dash navigation and dvd player. I have seen the avic-n2 at best buy and that thing looks awsome.

Yea, it is close to my price range but will probably get the Garmin 2620. I am not sure how the TomTom is supported......plus do not like the memory card thing much. Anyone have any pics of the Garmin 2620 mounted in their Max besides the one posted?

So no more inputs on this? I was hoping MikeTX would have some good info. Anyone have one of these besides an aftermarket in dash Nav?

I would get the Garmin unit as Mike_TX has. If you have a pocket PC and want something for that, then check out the Pharos GPS system. I used it on my old Maxima, and it worked pretty well.
