Very nice.... Red calipers give the best contrast for just about any car color except for red (of course).

I did red calipers on a white Cobra.... Looks great too, and gets lots of compliments. How did you do yours?

Thanks guys. I used Duplicolor high temp gray primer sprayed on. The red is also Duplicolor. I lightly wet sanded the red with 1000 grit. I topped it off with Duplicolor clear coat. It is VERY shiny and smooth. Took a few hours of messing around with it. Taping is tedious.

Regarding NISSAN letters, I'm undecided about if I want letters, which I think I do, and which color of lettering. I'm thinking either white, bronze or maybe even black letters. Any suggestions? Maybe Sparq can do me a photoshop? How bout it Sparq? I'd certainly appreciate it.

Ok Deus..unfortunately..the way your pic has the spokes in the way..it's kinda hard to get all the logo to show.

But I have a pic of a decal from http://www.xenonmods.com/newallcaliperdecals.htm that sells the actual decals..and I played around with the colors a little.

I'm sure real life would look a lot different though..but here's what I got anyway.

Straight logo

Curved logo

Sparq: Thanks for the good photoshop work!!! Now I have to decide which I like better. Your help makes it soooooomuch easier to decide.

Brembo logo looks good, BUT I dont think you should put that logo if they are not Brembos. My opinion is either the NISSAN logo or nothing. Possibly, SE-R or maybe NISMO.
Here are some further away pics:

I think they are really noticable but not in a tacky, cheesy, or ricey kind of way. The brakes are big enough where I think they look good. Its a cheap easy mod. Are these pics any better?

I have been very tempted to do this. Figured it would give me something to do one of these weekends, and the best part is its cheap.

I've been looking at it too, but I'm waiting for the write-up to see how much trouble it is. I don't wanna spend 4 hours painting, and I don't know how much trouble it could be... makes me think about ganking a set of calipers elsewhere and painting them off the car, then wait a few days for them to dry up really good and have someone mount them or something.

I guess we'll see how much trouble the whole taping thing is when he gets the write-up together.

Either way, it looks SEX.

You should know by now that anything you post will be seen 1000 times... they'll eat up the photobucket daily bandwidth limit you have in a hurry. Between this thread and the tinted lights (and don't forget the spoiler one), people are probably hitting your images a million times a day.

I'll send you a pm and see if I can host some of this stuff for you.

Looks good Deus.....nice work. I keep saying I will do the same as I did to the BMW...but usually forget on my days off. I like the paint brush method as well. Takes some time and a few coats...but worth it.

I think using a sponge brush is better than a bristle brusk. I touched it up with a sponge and its much smoother. Still debating what color letters, if any.

it would look nice with white but do u realize they will be gray no matter what because of the brake dust buildup? not worth it..

Puppet: Consider the 300zx brake conversion. 4 piston calipers, aluminum, Nissan logo built in, not too expensive.

I think Im gonna get the metallic bronze lettering. Combined with red, I think it will bring out the bronze in the rims. Ill post pics when i get em.

Thanks Deus... good point, I'll take a look at it... I assume you're talking about Matt Blehm's kit? Thing is, I have a possible deal on some 6th Gen brakes off a totalled car, it'll be cheap, so I figured it might be worth a shot.

It depends on how cheap I am too...

Yeah Matt's kit is pretty sweet, but I'm already dropping more cash on the car this summer in suspension upgrades, so we'll see... going little step by little step here...

Remember, u only need the adaptor and SS lines plus the calipers themselves for teh 300zx conversion.
