You are correct, Infiniti started the fx with the regular (champaine finish) rims and the chromes available in the sport package (or purchased at extra cost). However, somewhere begining of 04, they came out with the 20 inch "gunmetal" rims. The finish was darker than the previous which is why it earned the gunmetal nickname. Although they look absolutly fantastic, they are not very common, unlike the silver (now a little more chromey than b4) rims, and chromes.

18s - 7 spoke
20s - 8 spoke

I have pics if your interested.

i think it actually looks pretty good. Would be a nice addition for summer wheels and tints would make it even nicer

Funny thing it was brought up.....I saw a FX45 yesterday and thought the rims would look nice and bolt up fine to a Maxima.

humm I don't like it. also I have 20" diablo wishbone's on my Max and have not noticed a performance hit. I have lost some gas mileage...went from 22.7 to 22.4 MPG but i will switch back to stock for the winter.

Personally I think that 20" and above look like an abomination on our car... now trucks are a whole dirrerent story - I think the 22"s look like the shizzle on the FX, but only 'cos it's taller than the max - and that balances it out.

My $0.02...

ya...i have seen other ppl ask this question before..
it will look but the wheels from fx45 is probably too heavy for the maxima
since the huge hp difference between the 45 and our maximas
