Couple pics of a few new mods I did, interior stuff.

Well, finally finished up my tour working as a NCO at Correctional Custody, have some time now to update my page. Just a few pics I should have posted some time ago.....sorry for that but the military never sleeps.

Few pics of my new real silver carbon Momo Shot shift ****, I can still drop this shift **** another inch and a half without cutting the shaft at all. Damn this thing feels so good in your hand and the pics do it no justice. I got it for 60 ish and change.....not bad for a **** over 100 bucks....never mounted.

Sorry about the last pic, my new camera is not the best.

Some more interior shots of the Nismo.....not real seat back pillows...Ebay special, but the driver seat belt pad is dealer bought Nismo. They feel good on your neck and the belt pad helps a tall guy like me on long drives. In the first pic you can see my XM radio antenna just velcroed to the rear package shelf. No reception problems at all.

All in all, pretty cheap interior mods and just wanted to post them to give some ideas. I like them. I spend the money on the interior because that is my drivers cabin and to me, the exterior is for everyone on the outside....but on the inside, that is my drivers seat and like to make it just for me.

Oh yea, and I should probably get rid of the stock yellow interior lights, just have not got to it yet. I am wanting to change them to red to match the interior....or orange....something LED.

The camera is probably fine, and it's just you...

Seriously though, the auto focus is probably puking all over itself because there are so many things in the shot. Next time see if there's an option for spot metering or try to get the camera to focus on the **** itself, then move the camera to get the rest of the dash into the frame.

With my camera, I can half-press the shutter and auto-focus will kick in. Then you can move around and the focus will remain at the same spot, rather than the camera try to keep focusing on whatever item is in the center of the shot. If you can do that, you'll be taking better pictures in no time.

It is a ghetto Vivitar Walmart special camera. My son broke my good one and just got a cheap one for now. Thing is so small, one little move....all is jacked. Sometimes smaller is not better.

PLUS....now you guys can see the bolts and allen wrench that makes this work with no problem. Universal. I can lower the shaft up to the top of the ball and give the same look as cutting the shaft but for now am leaving it at this height. Might lower it as low as I can over the weekend and see how it feels. No need to cut the shaft though. That is another plus.

TTT for people who want to change a shift ****. Pics enclosed. Maybe Nismo will make this a sticky. At least the pics to show a shift change mod.

Dropped the **** about an inch lower tonight by messing with the interior **** grommet. Same effect as cutting the shaft, but reversible. Will post new pics when I can. I now have it at the position I want it, and the perfect shift **** to match the interior. Again....MOMO makes some good stuff.

I love what you've done. I am new here and would love to do something like yours. I do have some questions. Was the Momo **** easy to put on? How about the Trenz Grill. Where did you but these parts? I love the look.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Shift **** went on with just a few allen bolts. Perfect fit. Actually now sits an inch or so lower than what it was in the pic above. My grill is not a Trendz, it is a billet from prostreetlighting off of ebay. Actually, most of my parts have came from ebay since not many Maxima stuff sold around here. Grill was real easy to install. Hope this helps and welcome to the board.

OK...some better pics. Few shots of the now lower Momo real carbon shift ****....also just a hint of the custom DIY carbon steering wheel emblem insert. And by popular demand....pics of my CHEEZY dash cover, back on now as it is summer. The thing is not carpet, velour.....LOL. Thought adding the emblems off my rear would look good on it. I like the dash cover again. Hope you enjoy the pics and it gives you a few ideas. I love the **** and by modifying the grommet and lowering it....same effect as cutting the shaft, but no damage done. Looking forward to getting my aftermarket dash mount nav system and then I am done. Hope you all enjoy.

No making fun of the red shorts, I had my Joe Montana jersey on.

Few more pics of the Momo **** so you can tell how low it is and shots of the silver carbon interior. No more crappy silver plastic scratches for me or broken stock shift ****. I love my interior so much more than stock and the shift **** feels so perfect. Right now, perfect feel.....perfect height. Lowering it anymore for a 6'1" guy would not feel right. Again, hope you enjoy the pics.

E-brake cover was a 1/2 fit 3M tape one, I like it even though it is cheap. Better than stock looking to me.

Again, don't mess with my shorts.

You can see my XM Roady in the pocket.

lol...I think they only are going to rip on ya if you're wearing the pants with the razor sharp crease that poses a cutting hazard.

LOL...that was my military uniform....wish my car was sometimes as clean as that.....the blues have the crease sewn in. Normally I wear my BDU....or camaflague uniform to work. Still guess I need work as a pic taker....I always seem to get my legs in the picture.

Got my retro 80's San Fran Joe Montana jersey yesterday....at the tune of 130 bucks.....OUCH....but I love it so much.

Hope there is no airbag under that dash-mat...

Sorry if I sound like a downer on this .. Great work on some of the details inside your ride...

However, if there is an airbag under that dashmat you would not wanna be the passenger in that car (should it go off, God Forbid) ..

Saw a Mercedes Benz video ages ago when I asked why they didn't make dash mats for the Merc I bought ... The video illustrated a "3m post it note" which was stuck on the front of the air bag drive itself thru 1/4" thick pine wood board after it went off.. I would hate to think where the 3.5 SE badges would end up ...

IF there isn't an airbag under there then hey I am jsut overly cautious...

Yeah, there is one under there... if the light is right, you can sometimes see where it sit in the dash.

Good call!

Sorry Carcus for thinking it was a Trenz. Can I ask if you had a hard time installing the Billet Grill? ANy drilling required?

Thanks for the welcome.

i dont have the trenz grille, but no drilling is required with any grille. its one of the easiest mods you can do to the car.

Yep....no drilling on the billet. Self tapping screws, 4 of them.

And the dash cover is made to go up with the air bag. As far as fear from the light velcro 3.5 SE emblem...I got better things to worry about in a crash than a few LIGHT cheap OEM plastic emblems that will fly off.
