2005 IQS and the maxima
2005 IQS and the maxima
Well, for those of us who have nothing better to do with their time you would know that JD Power released it's IQS survey results. Good news is that Nissan has moved up the ladder since last year as far as problems per hundred have gone down which is a good thing...bad news is that Nissan is still significantly behind several other car companies. Nissan is still below average though. Hopefully now that the sales to 1 million event is over with Nissan can focus on their quality....Just thought I would throw this up on the forum to see what people have to say.
As a side note I was in the malibu plant last week. It's very impressive to see a car being built from nothing. I hate to say it that american cars have come a loooooong way. They still don't have a great interior, but the mechanical parts are equal to the japs. Japs still have us beat as far as HP goes. well I am off my box now.

Interesting. The combination of bringing out such a wide and growing variety of models, as well as moving the manufacture of more and more parts and the assembly of more and more vehicles to the US has caused a (to be expected) blip in Nissan quality control. Like you, I hope Nissan can now move past that blip.
And yes, American cars are getting better. I perused a 2005 Ford Five-Hundred today, and although the style may be sort of bland, the features were not. It is very roomy, and is built on the Volvo S80 chassi (which is a world better than the old Taurus platform). I could live in the trunk (over 21 cubic feet).
But I will stick with my Maxima . . .
