Got My 22's..... "pics and link"

hey guys finally....... I didn't get the ones i wanted cause they wern't in stock, but a few phone calls and a drive down to the warehouse i ended up with the rims BLAXIMA got in chrome...

22'' davinci lox 9 inches wide at 35mm offset..

I'm posting quick cause I have to go....... but they don't slow the car down like you think, the guy who installed the rims actually burned out in them by mistake... it handles stiffer and all but kept the speed there.. it don't even mess with the odometer at all.........

DROP next week with coilovers.....

here is a teaser pic and a link to a gallery... enjoy guys...

gallery:

http://tekniq.homelinux.net/gallery/album01

please leave a comment.......... I'll be back tonight............. TEK..

Sorry but I'm not feeling it. I'm biased though as I don't like chrome anything.

Tek, is your front end dropped? I think the back looks tight...but...the car looks like its crouching back like its launching, If the front end gap was gone it would look better.I like the rims though, personally I think 22" is going out of proportion with the car, I noticed the box says they are SUV rims. Just my $0.02 of course.

That looks TIGHT!!....those rims look really good on there.....I'm surprise the Max can take 22's like that.....it looks really good...how does it ride though? I know you had to lose some HP with those bad boys....and how is the steering?

Now all you need to make it official is this on the back of the max:

The rims are nice but if I were you, I wouldn't drop it. The rims eat up most of the space. If you drop it, I'm sure you will experience some rubbing if they don't rub now.

Wow... nice while not my cup of tea, but hey, it's your car...

All I gotta say is that it must be nice to have such good roads up there... I'd bend the hell out of those just getting to work in the morning.

but overall its like I never put the rims on......... like I said the installer spun the 22's on pavement by mistake, he spun 22's!!!!

this car handles the rims perfect....... no regrets at all.....

Well thats good to know, atleast if I ever do put 20" on the car Ill know it shouldnt change things that much. That one in the pic on the checker painted pavement must be dropped, I actually prefer your rims to whats on that car anyway, once you drop that gap it will look perfect.

First off, thanks for sharing the pics, as per usual. You are one of the best posters on this forum so hats off to you. The main thing is that you like it of course.

But personally, I think they are overdone and exceed the visual capacity of the 6th Gen. Kind of looks like you are going to plow the back 40. Plus, your ride has got to be a sincere *****. The Max engineers, if they see this, would likely think you have really screwed with the car's driveability and safety. All I can think of is what the scene would look like with a blow-out at any relatively high speed. Afterall, there is a function for the rubber on wheels - only now you don't have any. Did the warehouse make you sign a liability waiver??

Thanks - and.....good luck I guess....

Smoke.

I appreciate your .02.......... but I'm not the type of person that will rice my car at all, so if the ride in any way got hard to accept or to the point that you can't drive it I won't be here telling you guys to do it....

these 22's on stock suspention do nothing to the way its designed.. once you are driving you can hardly tell that you are on 22s.. the only noticeable things are you feel more of the road and the bumps cause of the profile of the tire..

my car drives exacly like it would with the 18s guys.... these 22s did nothing to the way the car drives at all.......... trust me, and I highly recommend it if you wanna do it....

about a 1/2 an inch, not much at all.... even with the SE suspention, if I'm turning and I hit a bump I get alittle rub... you might have to get a stiffer strut or the sway bar to completly eliminate the rub...

or get 22x8.5 35-40mm offset.... I wanted to go this size, but they didn't have a rim i liked at that messurement..

My man, those are some hot looking rims. I wish you the best with them. I could never put that size on here in Brooklyn with the messed up streets. What are you doing with the old setup?

First of all, I have nothing against 22's on a 6th gen. But I think that particular wheel looks horrid on your car. Your first choice looked sweet. But it's truely about what makes you happy. Now be ready for the downside of these wheels on your car. You will most likely have bearing problems. You will wear down your brake pads much faster. You are saying you smoked the tires. Of course you did. They are new. You can smoke new tires on an Festiva if you wanted to. I doubt you are looking for performance, anyway. If you were, youwouldn't be sporting 22's. Just don't mentally trick yourself into thinking that you haven't lost speed. Chrysler 300's with 22's are having all kinds of problems. Some Chrysler dealers even have people sign a waiver, when they sell them 22's on the cars.....so be prepared for what comes from that size a wheel......I personally would have looked at some Asanti wheels.....
