sun shade

summer is here ... anyone know how to add the auto rear sunshade that is available with the 4 seater max.... is it possible to fit it in a 5 seater model?

deus, chern?? I know you guys are into fancier mods (and your car pics speak for themselves) .. just wondering if you know and if it is possible.

I read it don't block the sun as well as tint..... get tints better, and you don't have to mess with electronics later...

You should be able to but you are better off with tint. Warren

yeah I have it also and it doesn't block the sun to well. But once I got 20% tint, car stays cooler in the interior.

The tint protects against the heat better than the sunshades because it keeps the heat of the sun from entering the car.

The sunshades block the heat of the sun AFTER it has already entered the car.

Sunshades protect the parcel shelf and top of the rear seat from dry rot and other degeneration caused by direct rays from the sun, and help protect rear seat passengers, but the sun's rays heat the sunshade itself, and hence the sun's heat is then inside the passenger cabin.

Thanks all..

I was thinking of the sunshade to protect the speakers (and not the people really) I used to live in Kuwait (50C in the shade!!) and have seen what it does to the interior of the cars... HZmajesty should know what I am talking abt...!!

but from what all you guys have said ...I'm going to go with the tint... hopefully I get a good job done.. dont like the bubbles I have seen on a few cars

P.S. Do the stock windows come with any slight tint? I have noticed that the light on the ground (coming through the windows) is a pale green.. dont know if it is my imagination or what!

Just make sure that you go to a good shop. I have had my tints on for over a year and no bubbles.

Anyone have more info on how to add the sun shade? I just had my tint done 35% all around and I'd like to add the shade to the back window to make everything just a bit darker.

The shade that the elite has is run by electric. It seems to be alot of work to install it.

Wouldn't you have to redo your whole rear deck to install that. Seems like a lot of work for something that really won't give you much benefit. Trust me, I have to rear shade and it doesn't give you that much sun protection.
