does anyone know where i can get my so called "downtuned" hp raised up?... im not too familiar with ecu upgrades... wut does and ecu upgrade do? and how can i get one and for how much

 

an ecu reprograming or pigy pack ecu or a performance ecu redo your fuel map air fuel ratio fuel intake and sometimes the redline of your car...
I actualy had mine sent out to get reprogramed pretty mean little enhanchement but will cost you a pretty penny though and depends where it is that you go!!

 

Where did you send it out to, how much and what kind of gains are you seeing? Is this butt-dyno or have you actually put this on the drums and see what's up?

 

I had ECU reprogrammed on my little '93 SE-R racer. Buy itself, you don't see much difference. I think it should be done after a few bolt-on mods to see significant improvement. I never had it dyno'd with each parts installed, that's only my guess and my own experience against other Sentras.

Has anybody actually done this thing and have proof of HP gains? I've only heard of 2 people that have done this to their 6th gen, and it's been the "feels faster" feedback but not actual dyno/track times. At $400 a pop, it seems like it could be an expensive "placebo mod"...

 

JET is iffy as hell with their details... go check out their website and you'll see. Broad stuff about Maximas rather than year-specific, "fake" dyno sheets (not actual sheets, but composites made with other software), etc. Not to mention it's like $400 and they claim a 15hp gain. For that price you could bank on HP gains from a y-pipe installed and still have money left over for hookers and beer.

 

CE got it for 349...... you will have to next day air it to them and they do the same..

I have never dyno'd my car but i ran a 13.8 at the 1/4 with a short ram intake highflow cat no resugnators and my ecu i mean with all that i spent roughly 500-600 bucks and ran a second faster!!
and i had it sent out by ripp modified i do not know where they send it too but they did that for me!!

You drive an 04 maxima? Our cat is built into the factory y pipe, the only ecu flash I know of is the jet one mentioned above and I have heard nothing but bad things about that company. post some slips please.

I wish stillen would have come out with the plug in ecu mod with bypass that they were working on..... I owuld have paid for that but as with all good thing they scratched it. mabye we should bug them up for it

I believe the stillen pigyback for the other year maximas is just a renamed smt6. I have thought about buying one of these and getting it tuned. Im just still unsure of the wiring diagram and how hard it is to hook up. Ive seen awsome gains on the cars that do have em because besides controlling air and fuel like the safcII it controls timing also.
