Yup, that is the concept , cannot hurt to try it , I did and it seems to have made the front end on mine a lot tighter... there was a recent thread on the general discussion about it , quite a number for it and of course some against doing it.. Both wheels off the ground ....

Since then I have also changed the offset by 10 on my wheels and that most definately has had a significant effect .. It is like on rails around corners now..

 

when i was going to get the Stillen FSTB, yes it was for looks and hopefully some kind of performance. I know if Cattman makes one, it will be thoroughly tested and fitted for the Maxima. Stillen has fitment issues. Seems now that most do not, but a few rubbing the manifold and others the hood was enough for me not to consider it anymore. It was designed on an Altima.

Now if the current discussion (Paladin is referring to in Gen Max) bears true and gains are seen while no adverse affects, then it will also be for performance.

FWD we naturally experience Understeer (did it myself). Tying up the rear (upgraded RSB) can reduce that and even cause Oversteer (w/ RSB have done that). My hopes have been that with a FSTB it can be evened out making the Max Neutral and Roll almost nonexistent.

On Z's we're the towers are mid engine bay, FSTB shows a lot of difference. With our's up against the rear wall, no so much. I've been following the discussion on if to preload or not

 

Well it's only been 3 years since 6th gens hit the market, when will cattman finally figure it out??? Again, with the location and fitman issues, I suspect cattman will come up with something exactly like Stillen, however shape it differently and offer it in a different color. Overall, I am in agreement with you, for the front of a 6th gen max, it's all about looks, not a whole lot more. Rear is definitely a different story...

 

I finally got my stillen one after months of backorder and problems with them finally sending it too much. It hasn't done much for me being its in my trunk along with the rear sway, just never got around to putting it on. The one attempt i made we realized we did not have the right tools. Eh maybe one day i'll get to it.

 

Had to bend mine becuase my bolt pattern is sitting 10 degrees off the USA bolt pattern , Guess it made it even tighter..

 

A bit tricky too install.

 

Dude , if you put it in the front seat, you may get to it sooner, all you need is a rachet set for the front, the Allen came with mine. As for the rear, 15 minutes at a shop and maybe about $25 clams if you don't feel like doing it. At least with the rear, you will feel a tighter ride...

 

I have a guy at work that does all the installs for employees, i just have to find a free night. I work all day and my sleeping patterns or lack there of never help as well. Maybe when i have my rims taken off i'll just give in and have the shop do it all.

They might start taking orders tomorrow for 6th gen bars and have them on back order for a couple of months

 

On The Stillen Website, It States That The Rear Sway Bar Will Fit An 04 But Not An 05. Are They Just Out Of There Minds Or Will It Really Not Fit Lol.

B/c the 04 is 22mm, and 05 is 24mm. All Stillen REALLY have to do is supply larger bushings, but they'd rather loose the sales. I'm happy w/ Cattman, even though it's a whole 6 pounds heavier than stock (don't know about Stillen's, but hollow tube too). 6lbs on a 3500lbs car, BFD.

Too bad about the 05-06 problems with the Stillen, since I have a 04, my Stillen fits, is heavier than stock, is rock solid and I would put it up against a Cattman any day of the week. Anyone who understands engineering characteristics with regard to strengths will tell you, hollow or solid, don't mean $hit when it comes to which would be stronger, Stillen just followed more of an aircraft engineering structural design, nothing wrong with that...
