6th gen Eyelid interest...

I need to know who would be in serious interest to get eyelids for the 6th gen made. He needs a test car in San Diego to get these made. If we have enough interest we can get it done. Heres a link to his site for a few examples of what hes capable of. Thanks, now lets get this going.

I like the shape of our headlights but I don't think it would look too bad if the eye lids went with the hood. Carcus, i used your car to photochop, hope you dont mind.

Hey, if they actually looked like that and matched....I could go for that. Thanks for the PS ohthatshot. I like the way it goes with the hood lines like the pic of the 350Z....the triangle one would look out of place.

that actually looks REALLY nice. Now would this be the hood or eyelids. It could be something like the VW's with the Booser Hoods. Looks really nice though, I'd be in.

Would you like to be the test fitter for these? That would be so awesome. If so contact Andy at his email address: dubbleA@peoplepc.com and let him know about the interest us 6th genners have for them!

Ditto for me. I have seen some pics of what he has made before and the quality looks good. If the eyelids look just like in the pic and flow with the hood....these would be awsome especially if it is in body color.

Agreed - I definitely think they will make the car look even more agressive if it fits flush with the hood like the PhotoShop. Just waiting for him to email me back.

Talked with the eyelid designer, Andy, tonight and he is PUMPED about the responses from this thread. He LOVED the look of the photoshop that I sent to him and we are meeting on Sunday to go over designs. He thinks he can really make the Max look pretty aggressive much like the pic above and is definitely hoping to get something going for us soon. We will probably be using my Max as the test car. I will keep you guys posted!

: Sweet, I knew I could count on you! I cant wait. Do you think you can see if there are any other projects he would like to do with the Max like he did with the 350?

Well, upon closer inspection, I'm not really sure that type of overlay would look good on our cars...

Seriously though, look at it closely and you'll see... the photoshop looks KILLER, but that's because it extends the hood out to cover the headlights. With any type of overlay like the ones on that site, there's gotta be a gap between the hood and the lamp, there's just no way around it, and what I'm worried about is that it's just gonna look like what is is... a sticker on top of your headlamp.

But hopefully I'm wrong and it's gonna look hot... I'm all for it if it does.

Now what I wouldn't mind having is one of those overlays like he has for the G35 ( http://photobucket.com/albums/y42/Bl...pe%20Overlays/ )... use one of those instead of going through the mess of tinting your headlamps, and the car looks like SEX.

viguera, you're right, i didn't like the look of the gap so i made it look like the actual shape of the hood was changed. I added a gap so hopefully we can see what it would really look like.

I'm trying to figure that out myself... but from the blue Z pictures, it looks like just a sticker, which is kinda sucky. A plastic overlay over the headlight would look better, but then there's the issue of keeping it in place. I guess you could find permanent solutions, but I'm not sure I'm ready to do that to my car just yet...

Good idea HZ!

Blaxima - I will make sure we go over a lot of different designs. I'm not too hip on just a sticker - I would much rather have a plastic overlay of some sort to match the hood. We'll see what he has planned on Sunday!

after cleaning my car tonight (finally) and even having the hood buffed while on vacation, I see the eyelids as something else to get chipped. I would only do it if it was made out of aluminum or carbon fiber and painted - which would chip.

photochop experts, you should include the lines breaking between the hood and proposed eyelids. That looks really good as though it was a one piece hood. May get a different reaction seeing it as clip on separate peices.

nismo, i know what you mean, I have a feeling it won't look as good with the gap. maybe you missed my 2nd photochop a few posts up, i added a gap between the hood and the lights.

Has anyone played Need for Speed Underground 2? Well, although this does not help getting these eyelids made, one of the mods on the 350z (very similiar headlights as our max) are eyelids that look like the ones photoshoped by ohthatshot.
