Step-by-step... brake rotors/pads swap... ??
Can anyone help me out by emailing a copy of the Nissan Service Manual or a step-by-step to replacing the brake rotors and pads? I'm going to do this next weekend hopefully with my Dad, who's had lots of experience with older cars but not much with newer ones. Anyways, any tips or guides you could help me with would be great!

well I downloaded the Nissan Service Manual so I've got those step-by-step guides... but if any of you have tips on what specific tools I'll need to do the job, and anything to watch for, make sure I do correctly or a certain way, etc, that would help a great deal!!

Just worked on mine recently with my uncle. I never trust myself doing brakes but he walked me through it since he is a mechanic. Honestly, they are pretty simple. Rotors, pads and then pump the brakes until you get a nice firm pedal.

You won't need anything too special to do the job. Just a ratchet and a set of metric sockets. However, you will need a tool to push the front caliper pistons in before putting the new brake pads on. They do have a special tool for it but I've always just used a C-clamp. The pistons in the rear screw back in using a little box shaped tool. Check with an auto parts store on this.
Make sure you have a 19mm socket and a long-handled ratchet to take out the bolts holding the caliper bracket on. They are torqued on quite a bit.

I haven't looked, but is the Max a single, dual or quad piston? I just want to say a single piston... If it is single or dual you can use the tool below ( the caliper has to be slotted to allow the bolt to pass through the oppsing side). This tool is designed to push the piston/s back in to the caliper. You can also use a c-clamp if you have one avail.
Here ya go, and remember it's for a single or dual piston caliper.

I have taken the caliper off completely and used a hammer to push the piston back in..
just simply take the caliper off, lay it on the floor with the piston face up. put the hammer head on the piston inbetween the caliper... and push like a ****...
it will take a few pushes, but eventually will let loose and push all the way back in..

you can get it at nissanusa.com You have to sign up with an account, and pay to get access. I did the 24 hour access (one day) for $19.95 then you can download anything you want, but you cant download the whole service manual as one big file, you have to do each chapter individually, but then I guess you could compile it all together into one huge pdf file.
I think I've seen people selling it on CD on ebay, might want to check there.

Sounds like chrisaust method is cheaper, however here is an ebay link selling the entire CD version for $24.95 with free priority shipping. Just in case...
