Torque is gone?
Do you have a 6 speed or an auto..
Either way doesn't matter much. You said you had it and now you don't. I would deffinately take it in to a stealership and see what they have to say. They will probably come back with nothing because their dummy machines didn't tell them the problem but it's worth a shot.

Im going in for my oil change in a month, ill ask them then. There is also a slight thumping coming from under the pedals, i know its from the engine. Check that out too. It an Auto 5speed. Car was made in May 2005 so it is possible that they might have worked out some of the torque steer issues.
Your torque steer dissapeared?!? How and why? Was this due to your mods, or just a break-in thing? And would I be sad if it left.... Not in the winter but in the summer I probably would. I like the torque feeling it gives. Not because it's faster (it's more dangerous actually), but the mental feeling it gives... Just my 2 cents. Has anyone else lost the torque steer?

I didn't loose mine, i just got used to it.... i still get pushed in the seat and my max still pulls off to one side cause of the torque..
you get used to it, so it seems like is not there anymore.. I think..

A different question
On a different note (can't seem to post a new thread).
How does when get the most out this engine in an automatic?
I assume that using 91 octane will deliver better acceleration than 87 - is this right?
I assume that keeping the traction control system on while accelerating (from a stop) using the shift automatic method will deliver the best performance - is this right?

torque steer mysteriously disappears

you can't post till you get 15 post under your belt..
nissan recommends 93 for best performance, and yes you do get the most performance when in manual matic..
WELCOME to the org..

we tend to (at least try to) stay on topic.

Me so dumb.it must be the silver color option, you know they are quicker than the rest right

Actually mine is back with the cooler weather!?!?! I guess. Road surface might make a difference too, concrete vs. asphalt. I'll go try again right now.Silver is the next quickest, after maj blue, onyx, re op, smoke, win frost, ...
^^^ I pondered on the cold air coming back possibly having an affect. That would make sense yet be weird. (don't CAI reduce low end torque
)So that would be the biggest factor in many noticing summer reducing some of that desired pull.
believe me Tek, i'm still pushed back into my seat, but Onyx is smart enough to not shove me left and right anymore

I was driving the other morning, I felt the car was shifting smoother than usual.. I mean i couldn't feel the shift at all.
I wonder if that was the morning cold air doing that... this was during normal driving..

My announcement of the return of the torque steer was pre-mature.
CAI does reduce low end torque slightly, from what I've experienced. My concern was from 2-4k rpm, no noticeable TS. Maybe I'm used to it, but I don't give the steering wheel the death-grip and usually have my right hand on the shift ****... old habbit.

Your just used to it,
I bought my car recently as well, and when I first got the car I was really not getting on it to let it break in, but of course I did have to play very quickly just to feel out my new car. I was waiting until about 1000 miles until i really started getting on it, but one day at about 600 miles to show my friend what the cars about, I got on it a little bit, than until about 1100 left the car alone again. I started complaining the that car felt sluggish to me and was scared I messed something up in the break in period. Thankfully I work at a Nissan dealership and have plenty of them at my disposal so I took a fresh one around the block. Its all in our head boys we just get used to it.

Pull at Acceleration.
Does the wheel ever pull right or left when you give it gas? Like if I stop at a stop sign and accelerate the wheel pulls to the left or right and sometimes its hard ot pull it back straight if your not paying attention.
Mine mostly just does it when I accelerate quickly or decelerate quickly. Although, it isn't not so severe that i can not control it or be able to pull it back.
Let's just be glad that we haven't lost our torque like some others have already.

It's not bad if your paying attention but when it catches me offguard its ****ed up. Like if I am talking to someone and I use my hands when I talk so I gotta put both hands and pull it back.

Torque Steer
Definition: The annoying tendency of some front-wheel drive vehicles to pull to one side when engine torque is applied. In other words, you step on the gas and the car wants to steer right or left. By redesigning the power train to use equal length half shafts between the transaxle and wheels, the tendency towards torque steer can be greatly reduced.
