Depends on where you shop... the dealer quoted me $230 for the bumper cover. Some dudes on ebay had it for $130, but they wanted like $90 shipping because of the size. I don't remember how much JR Nissan had it for, but I know shipping was expensive as well...

I ended up going to my friend at his garage... he ended up getting it for $119 primed, and I had it painted and installed for another $100 (took a couple of days to get the matching K11 paint).

It's ridiculous how much Nissan wants to charge for pieces of plastic...

Looks like they did a fairly nice job on the repairs / paint. I know you were frustrated. While taking a trip to DC in July, a semi threw up a small piece of retread and got my driver's side near the fog lamp. Luckily, it just kinda bounced off and I was able to get the scuffs out with polishing compound. I'd say that I would have been a bit more upset dealing with what happened to you.

There should be a law against retreads. They are all over sides of roads and on the roads at times. PPL have been hurt and killed by these. The car that was 2 cars behind me had his headlights and grille broken. It really sucks.

Peace and thanks

Hey Warren, I had no idea until I checked the old posts. Sorry about your mishap, the important thing is that you're OK. Up here in Canada, it''s against the law to use rethreads although try stopping all the trucks to find out whose got what. Especially when a lot come across the border. I had a similar brush the other day and luckily for me I was able to "S" avoid it as there was hardly any traffic at the time, it was during the middle of the day and there was no one on my side. Phew! The other day I almost lost my lunch on the dash when my ABS kicked in while I was driving in my hood and almost pancaked a squirrel who was out playing hit me! I actually stopped the car and looked underneath for him. Nothing. Then there were the three women at the stop sign who did not stop and followed each other....there was a bit of honking followed by the finger pointing at the stop sign. I had to restrain myself not to do the one finger salute. I love your ride Warren. Your Max is very very cool! Happy motoring!
