Just curious,

Have they stopped making 05's?? Wasnt sure how that worked. Are 05's just around long enough til they completely sell the inventory?

There isn't anything I would want on the 06 that the 05's dont already have so is my time to get an 05 limited now that the 06's are out?

Yes, they stop making 05's, and started making 06's. What ever is left of the 05's are your choices.

That's not really an 06. Looks at the Odometer, to much miles to be an 06.

3 pieces of evidence that Rolando doesn't have an 06.

1. The odometer has a 5 didgit number already displayed. So it has over 10,000 miles on it.

2. The regular plates are already on the car.... unless he transferred the plates. Usually its a 30 day tag. He also has all the inspection stickers on the window.

3. His webpage was last updated on July 29, 2005 and the cars are just now getting to the dealers.

I vote that Rolando has an 04 or 05 Max.

Edit
#4. He bought his car from Atlantic TOYOTA?!?!?! Is it used? Shouldn't it say Atlantic NISSAN if he bought it new from a Nissan dealer?

Yeah, I think I got good at tracking down B.S. from my days as an adult felon probation officer. I also have a wife and 2 kids that try to pull the wool over my eyes every day.

Me: Honey, Is that a new outfit, purse and shoes?
Wife: No, I bought this last year when they had that 50% off the already marked down 30% sale. Don't you remember? You can't remember anything.
Me: Uh, no I don't remember. Funny thing though, hon, the receipt in your Pathfinder says you paid full price for it LAST Thursday!!!!!

Some states/dealers you can walk out with plates. I have done it in MD, not sure about NY though. The rest of your points are very valid.

Interesting points about the Max and the Teana... Since it is highly likely that the 07 max will feature some sort of face lift, it could be a possibility the Teana will be released at that time... as the 07 Maxima SL... The Maxima SE would probably be the Max we have now (with a sporty face lift), but both would benefit from a redesigned interior.. who knows.. im just rambling

Yes, NY has in dealer plates, you can get your state plates before you drive it home.

Hey guys

Was at dinner with the gentleman who sold me my 05' Max. He told me the 06' has not changed but the 07' will have some significant changes. The interior will be different as well as the headlights and tailights. The 08' will not change but the 09' will be totally redesigned! I can't wait!

When I first bought my 03 Chevy Trailblazer and 04 Nissan Maxmima from Virginia Dealerships, both came with DMV tags issues at the dealership, I know MD does the same, not sure about NY though???

Anyway the way you know that's not a 2006 is the steering wheel. The writing would be on the buttons like the new 2006 Z. They also used to be right under the buttons but now they not, look. The reason for this is they light up now.

BTW edmunds.com is showing that the 2006 Maxima has a $750.00 rebate already. It seems a bit early to offer a rebate!

it would be a travesty if there was to be no 25th anniv. editions, whether they want to discontinue the model or not....if only for the marketing ploy; it worked on me when i bought my SE-"Limited".

From what I can tell, "Limited" and "Special Edition" are used on the last model year of that body. They would add some popular options to those cars as standard features, or a special color. as far as 25th AE, there could be a Spring release as either '06.5 or '07, more marketing ploy.

It's still available on the SE, I chose not to spend the extra cash though when I bought my Max...

Still happy I don't have it...

FriscoMax and brewboy13 - As shown in the color sticky at the top of this board, Burnt Orange upholstery was still available with the introduction of the '05 Maxima, but only on SEs with the Elite package, and only with spirited bronze, onyx or smoke exterior colors.

As FriscoMax has found, the burnt orange interior option is not included as an option on the '06 Maxima 'build' section of nissanusa. As soon as I can get my hands on an '06 Maxima brochure, I will update the sticky at the top of this board to include all possible '06 interior and exterior color combinations.

The most annoying part to all this!!!! In the US your interior for your maxima's look fantastic! On top of that, you get manual options. In australia, we get the auto only and an interior that looks hideous. If only our maxima's had that dash.... Curse the Aus market

Yea I saw on the discovery channel that that all car company's have to make their light's LED's by 2010. Nissan changed it for the Z. I can't wait for the 07 sounds hot. The new color grille and rims are gonna be on my 05. If they fit.

Here in Louisiana, I went to our local dealership and they finally had 2 06' models. One was a Red SL and the other was a Majestic Blue SE. What was amazing to see was that the pillars and headliner do have a nice fabric on them. Also, the auto-dimming mirror has more of a rectangular shape to it. The overhead console looks A LOT better.(kinda like the Acura RL) It has a tiny, small hole that says "mic" for the Bluetooth microphone and a phone icon that has a light for it. The steering wheel button for the Bluetooth has the similar phone icon on it also.( Which of course are lighted) If you go to the Nissan web-site and under "Owners" select manuals, then select 2006 Maxima. Next, select Navigation manual. You can download the new manual for the 06' navigation system. It's cool! The graphics are just like the one in the Infiniti M

Just took delivery of a 2006 SE

One major problem! (for anyone interested in AUX inputs) Unless you order with factory installed satellite, they now have a lesser factory head unit w/o the SAT button. This seems to tell me that my PAC AAI-NIS won't work on this car. No IPOD for me I'm pissed! I may have to rent a 2005 from Enterprise and do a swap.
