Carbon Fiber Hood Production

I'm currently in the process of producing a carbon fiber hood for 04+ Maximas. I'd like to gather some information as to who would be interested.

Yeah, I would also be curious to see what one would look like on a Onyx Max. I'm a little skeptical about that look, but it may look sweet. If I had a silver Max like 'Niq or Orange like Maxmale, I wouldn't think twice about it. I think the right carbon fiber hood on those colors will look SICK! Plus, it will probably help trim a few pounds. I think several people would probably be interested in the hood, but some prototype pics woud make the decision a lot easier. PEACE OUT....

this is why no one makes stuff for our cars, see how the poll is going.. the same thing happened when SSR was willing to make a SC for our cars the poll was more towards no than yes.. people were complaining that we have too much power already and don't need a SC, THATS BULL****... now the CF hood is looking like something that might get dropped also... I HATE THIS S***T!!!

come on people...

I would like to see 1 on a spirited bronze but the hoods are so long on these sorta luxury cars that it might look kinda out of place .02

think the glass is half full mang. who cares how many don't want it. if enough do, then it should get made regardless.

I know it, then down the road people will ask "how come we don't have a CF hood" this is why...

I think the Carbon fiber hood would also look tight on the bronze color! I don't think I've ever seen one on that color, but it seems like it would look right. I wonder when some of these companies are going to realize that Maxima owners are some of the most dedicated and enthusiastic car owners out there. It seems obvious from looking at the number of Maxima owners on Cardomain, they appear to outnumber most other rides.....Just another suggestion for the guy who might make the hoods. Consider a hood with a partially raised center that flows with the two lines down the center of the hood which could allow the addition of a supercharger. Stillen did something similar with the G35 and 350Z. Also, I think it would look tight with a small opening in that raised part which would allow more air flow. It could be filled in with a mesh insert or something. Anyway, that's my idea for a CF hood, would like to see something for the 6th Gen even if I didn't get one. PEACE

As Ive said before, I dont think the hood would flow with the original look of the car. It would be a nice option to have though. It wouldnt match good with any kinda of grill except the one dues has and the AT grill. The blacked out headlights would be a must also to pull it off IMO.

I'd rather just paint my hood black. Its about the same thing as getting a CF hood. I don't see the point on a 6th gen. Your not saving that much weight...its all for looks. And if you like the two tone look just paint the thing. Its going to look out of place and make a 30k car look cheap. I've seen it done on other more costly cars and look nice...but the 6th gen just doesnt' seem to be one of them. Of course this is just my opinion.

I dont think that will happen for us buddy. We dont even have our own FSTB. Its all retrofit for us. It would save tons of weight though. Our hoods are heavy.

How much weight would a CF hood save over the 6th gen aluminum hood?

just about none. it's purely a visual mod for us. it's possible to even weigh more. Personally, even if we didn't have alum, and a weight saving CF hood came out with a great design, I'd paint it to match.

Ditto, if it actually saved a good amount of weight and was affordable, I would buy one. Im pretty sure the oem hood is already pretty light though.

Welcome Back 6th Generation People.....Sorry about the ban, but there is a certain HATER that just hates to see the shine removed from him...

The Carbon Fiber hood is in the final stages of being released...... The CF hood is expected to be slightly lighter than the OEM hood. I've taken everyone's email and personal messages to heart, and have configured the CF hood to the majority view.

Thank you.

I was wondering about a CF hood months ago, it must have the lines in it like the OEM atleast, and be of the finest quality. When is the anticipated completion date for the prototype?

Production is set to begin in two weeks. Our first batch should be ready by first week of October. We plan on copying the stock hood exactly, so no need to worry, the lines will be visible and we plan on using only the finest of quality.

We will announce a group deal (special discount price for the first 15 orders) with respect to purchasing the CF Hoods shortly. We are not sure of the cost as of yet, but it will comparable to the previous generation CF hood prices.

Thank you.

I was hoping for a more aggressive hood design but not ricey or cheesy. Any thoughts about that?

Looks like somebody's gonna have to break out the photoshop...

I wouldn't mind something different, but even an OEM copy (if your car is the right color ) would probably look nice.
