Adding Fogs to my SL
Adding Fogs to my SL
I read http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....=1#post3734123 on how to replace fogs (H3). I have a set laying around my house.
I do not have fog lights, atleast I don't think I do. I turned on the **** and no light appears to be on where the fog lights are suppose to be. Do the SL have fog light feature? According to this it does., but I wanted to hear your thoughts.. I may have to tell my dealer when my car goes in for a few repairs next week.

Unless you got jacked by some crazy custom headlamp, your car has to have fogs.
If you look at this picture from mobruin ( http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y58...S/e8838806.jpg ), you'll see dead center the main projector, on top the turning signal and to the left is the fog. That's what it's supposed to look like.
If your headlamps don't look like that, you need to take a picture because nobody here will believe you...
-- edit --
If they look like that but the lights just don't come on, then they might either be burnt out (check the stickies for replacement instructions) or there might be a problem with the wiring. Mine burn out round robin like every 3 weeks for some odd reason...
And they're a complete PITA to replace (the passenger side, especially), which makes things worse.

yeah, i love my car except for electrical issues that I'm currently facing:
-Memory seats don't work
-Door locks don't automatically unlock when I turn the engine off (isn't suppose to do this?)
-interior lights (front & rear dome, door lights) don't work. I had the fuses check but they checked out fine
-fog lights don't work
I'm still happy with my max because I'm comming from a 4th gen, so you understand how I'm feeling ever since I picked up the car on Saturday.

Seriously though, no reason for a new car to have those kinds of problems...I can't comment on the seats other than it probably being a fuse or the connectors under the seat... or perhaps a burnt out motor?
As far as the door locks, the car doesn't unlock by itself, so that's expected behavior.
The lights is another story... you can go to autozone and get some festoon bulbs and try to replace them yourself and see... if they don't work, then it's either the fuses or a wiring problem... and I'd still take it back to the dealership and have them fix it.
Hey, you paid top dollar for the car... least you can expect is that everything is in good working order...
I'm putting in HIDs my driving lights this weekend ... 6000k H11
We don't have fogs only driving lights like the Altima.. that completes my HID's conversions main, high and now Driving lights ... you will be able to see me comming from over here...LOL

minsbang - my doors better not unlock when I turn off the engine.
Very often, after I turn off the engine, I have newspapers, briefcase, mail, maps, jacket, deposit slips, etc, etc, to round up before I am ready to exit the car. And even after I round everything up, I look all around me before I unlock the door. And that is 'door' singular, as I only unlock the driver's door.
These are dangerous times; I want doors unlocked only when I am ready for them to unlock.
As to all door lights and both dome lights not working when the fuses are good, the only other place 'in common' for those lights is the switch in the over head console beside the sunglasses compartment. That switch determines whether those lights will never come on, never go off, or (normal setting) come on and go off with the opening and closing of the doors (with delayed off in some cases, as well as instant off once you start the car).
Play with that switch a little and see if you can get anything working. If not, it may be 'dealer service dept time', with that switch as the primary suspect.

If you guys are still under warranty go directly to dealer.
