Looks good. Thats the unit that one day i'm hoping to buy. If i could get my dash kit cut to fit that piece i would certainly go that route and not move the info screen anywhere.

That's what it looks like to me... take a dremel to a metra kit and take out the pocket.

I'm interested to know if this is a full ISO-compatible DIN business... you know, complete with brackets or mounting points for a 2-din HU, or if it's just a hole in a metra kit (unlikely, right? ).

whats up fellas --- sorry for getting back so late on this post...been a busy day....ok --- the face plate is cut with a dremmel cleanly and the kit includes that face place piece and all the necessary hardware...you'll have to do a bit of modding/adjusting (obviously) to mount the HU into place... Its actually pretty simple once you line everything up... Price/Price?Price* --- I gotta get back to you on cuz I'm still working on him....he's asking too much --- thats why I am polling interest in here. When I asked him if I could do 10 his face dropped. When I asked him what the price would be at 10 he quoted me the same as if it were one... Thats not how it works.... so I'm trying to get this for everybody in the 75-100 buck area... If I know I can push 10 then I'll go back with money in hand and see if he refuses 750 to a G...

Yeah, that's kinda pricey. Originally the Metra dash kit was in that range IIRC. Right now you can find it on ebay for $50.

And even if you don't wanna deal with ebay, autotoys has it in stock for $58 right now. Not sure if it's worth $50 to have somebody dremmel the pocket out, but if you don't wanna risk it or if the price is only $75, then it might be worth it to some people.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/COMPL...spagenameZWDVW there $60 shipped with free wiring harness kit..... which itself is about $8...... take off the pocket from the back side and use a dremel, small saw whatever that can cut and then use a file to file down followed by sand paper..... not that hard..... and deffinitly not $100 **** if you are gonna pay that much for a kit send me your money..... lol..... I will even throw in a cool bumper sticker that says Got ****ed...... plus that install no offense looks like ***..... don't know if it was intentional but whoever installed the doubledin screen forgot to install the bracket that hides the outside edge......

ok so I just sent an email to the west coast representative jake bates at metra to inform him of your concerns and I await his response..... here is a link to email your reps in your part of the country..... I am sure if enough of us let them know our cars deserve better products that allow our double dins to fit our cars then maybe they will listen and design one.... it's not that hard.... the mold is not that much different.... needs some tweaks.... but will deffinitly look better than the pic above...... lol...... http://www.metraonline.com/contact.php

Bringing up a post from 8 months ago --- we have a current double din post -- and yes metra is aware of it. Many of us have the priority of getting the brushed aluminum matched, so I sent them the one out of my car last week.

it was when the metra kit was more expensive --- you can buy them now for $25

There isn't a company making them right now --- you have to get the metra single and modify it for a double din. I just finished this one last week

Hey gec. I was just wondering where the Metra kit is available for that cheap. I'm in the process of ordering one, but if I can get it for about half the price, then I'm all for it. Thanks in advance.
