Maxima's in Korea - Lookin' a little different

Hey all. I'm a former Max owner and board member now in Korea. They don't sell Nissan here, but a Korean company, Samsung, licenses the Nissan designs, amkes them, and sells them in Korea. I've got a pic of the 'Maxima' they sell (Called an SM5 or SM7 depending upon the engine) and can post it if anyone wants to see them. It is different from the US Max, but there's also a lot of similarity between the A and C pillars. I don't have the ability to post a picture, so I'd need to get it to someone for them to post somewhere and link to.

All right, US Korea troops in the house, man I lived for 12 years in Southeast Asia and probably been to Korea like 30 times. Pusan, Osan, Chinha, Kunsan, Taegu, Inchon, Seoul, and the DMZ (bad a$$ **** protecting that border). Peace and be safe... Korea is technically still a war!!!

The interior looks ok but the outside looks like crap. Do I see a hood ornament on that thing? What's next, curb feelers and a boomerang antenna on the trunk? Keep that thing away from my Max b/c I don't want any of its ugliness to get on my car. I don't think it looks like the Infinite M45, the M45 is bad as hell.

You know as I drive around and the entire Nissan/Infinity line catches my eye. Altimas - I always mistake for the Max at first glance. 350z I like the similarities between our cars even though they are in different classes. I see plenty of the various Infinity models as well and I keep come back to to the fact that the 6th Gen Max is a better looking car. Period.
They all just look like the "almost as good looking "version of the 6th Gen Max to me.

Now the Infinity M45.....That's a whole different story. That is a very sweet car (reminds me of the Max but the MSRP Price Range: $41,250 - $44,050 is way more that I can or will spend unless I hit the lotto.
You know the 335hp 4.5ltr V8 is going to be CRAZY!!

Korean companies do this with other makes and models. I was over there for 3 months and saw Mercedes S series clones all over the place.

Not sure how to link the pic.

I don't mistaken the altimas as maximas but i do agree that the altima front end looks good. The minor face lift did wonders imo

Now that's what I'm talkin about. What a sweet machine. 'F' BMW, Benz, Jag and any of those other Euro trash cars, the M45 is the shizzle.

let me explain.

French Automobile maker, Renault bought off Samsung automobile and named it Renault-Samsung like 6 yrs ago. Samsung has no control of Renault-Samsung, they're just getting money from letting Renault to use the name of Samsung. Renault also owns the part of Nissan. so they share platforms and stuff. just like Daimler Benz and Daimler Chrysler.
Renault SM5/SM7 and Nissan Maxima/Altima is like Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable. they're not knock offs of a Maxima.

Ssangyong is now a Chinese company, not Korean.
