Has anyone seen this interior before?

The sticker for the car does not mention leather, so this is either a kit or custom upholstery. I bought the car used and I know very little about it. The seats are very soft leather with silver piping. The rear seats match the front.

No option.... It's custom. I have 2 tone leather in mine... I will post some pics asap. Mine is black on smoke (I got it to match the color).

Someone probaly covered the stock cloth with and aftermarket wrap. Unzip one and see whats hiding underneath! How many miles were on at purchase? Any other problems with the car?

Nope not a wrap the leather is the only layer before the foam. I pulled the back of the seat out and it is easy to tell. Other problems? I don't really consider the leather being added a problem. It only had 15K on it when I got it a few weeks ago. It has a billet grill, flowmaster mufflers, some kind of aftermarket air filter, and the seats. That is just what I have found. I don't think there is anything else though.

I went from cloth to leather as well. also had the doors switched to leather. I like all black, so I kept the interior all black. The guy asked me if I wanted any 2 tone. That looks real nice with that silver piping

Yup...it's either a Katzkin or Classic leather product....they don't "un-zip", they have to be installed professionally....just another way to custom the Max.....

I got mine from the same area. Sport City Corvette in Arlington, on Division, just behind Six flags. How weird is that.

Nope, no problem with anything. I really got lucky. The guy just wanted something sporty and he tried to make the maxima work for him. In the end it wasn't and he traded it in on a 'vette. His loss, my gain. With that mileage and all the mods, I don't think $21,750 was too bad.

Looks ok, the only problem with aftermarket leather is the function of the airbags. If the factory seats come with side air bags there is no way for them to open after the seats have been recovered with none OEM leather. I'm not sure if that is an issue in the Maxima but I know for a fact it is with the 350Z.

It isn't a problem with the 6th gens. The airbags are in the door frame instead of the headrest like the 5th gens.

Well, you'd be surprised with these leather kits nowadays. Most of them, if not all of them are compatible with airbag seats. I've installed many kits on nissans and if the car has airbags in the seats, you have to order the kit specific to that car.

I had my leather upgrade done by a shop that does them for dealerships. he had all 2k5 model cars and another 6th gen. so i'm not worried about the airbags issue.

the airbags are in the seats and side curtain as well.

I would of though the same thing, except that I didn't get it from a Nissan Dealer. The previous owner had it put in.

Not bad, if I ever had a cloth interior, which I don't, I would do something like that, great job...

I will go there every year now.. I have a ways to go to enter my ride... I will be entering it, not next year but the year afterwards.. I plan on suicide rears, lambo fronts, shaved handles/rear trunk. Painting my top black, with a "ghost" appearence. I am an artists, and have a few ideas. Rims will be Black w/chrome lip 20" 's (22 for shows) ..Lowered(set-up??).. Black suede top interior, leather/suede seats. And a few other mods.....or alot.. lol...

Waht i meant to say about Austin being far, is that i have gone to alot of GTG's that were far away, and they were fun, but not worth the $$$ in Gas... Sad but true.. Alot of miles were put on for one day of fun.. and mostly they would not come up here, or never.. Not saying that the ones in Houston or Austin wouldnt, but i am most likely going to stick around here, until i know what is worth going to.. If it wasnt for gas prices then i would travel no matter what, but for the time being ill stay around here..

LAter guys...

The best stealerships are the non Nissan ones, like the small or semi big used car dealerships, they know all the tricks. Trust me my family owns 2
