Nitrous system is installed

Yesterday I had my Nitrous System installed by Dan at Maximum Tuning in LI. who is one of our sponsers at nyc maximas. Since it was their 1st install on a 6th gen. it took over 8 hours to do the install. Dan did a great job. There was a lot of wiring to be done. I have to take a few more pictures when rest of install is completed. I was tired when I got home last night and I forgot to take a picture of the switches and the bottom grill where the purge kit is installed. I have to clean the engine before I take a completed picture. Waiting for the pressure gauge and blow out tube which should arrive at the end of the week.

Nice mod. Lets hope the 6th gen doesn't have auto tranny issues like all the other gens when boosting or bottling. From the looks of it, it looks like a dry set up? I tried installing some NOS up in my car when i first got her, but shops around me wouldn't do it cause of a drive by wire throttle ( i think thats right). Anyways when you're ready to go to Englishtown, let me know, cause only a few weeks remain.

Its a wet kit. I will check to find out when the season is over. I still have to wait for the other parts. I want to be safe.

Thanks

I really don't know about the gains. I will try to run it at the track and get a dyno when I find a shop around here that has a dyno-jet.

Thanks

It was the first 6th gen that they did. I was there all day and everything was done correctly. I will see you on my way down to Florida.

I think this is the first time anybody's hooked up the juice to a 6th gen... and even if not, I'm pretty sure it's the first time the guys at that shop have. It's probably just like everything else... I bet you if I go there to get the same kit on my car, it takes them 3 hours or less now...

What sucks is that there's NOTHING to do by Glen Cove Ave where the shop is... There's a small store next door and like a vet's office across the street... the nearest thing is the mall like 10 miles away or something... I imagine he was bored out of his skull spending 9 hours out there...

Bored is not the word. I left my house at 6:30 in the morning. Traffic sucked because of the weather. Fell asleep in the office for a while. Had some thing to eat at the ice cream store next door. Got home about 8. Jeff and Dan are nice guys and know what they are doing. Dan told me the next one will be less time.

Hehehe... When I went out there it was raining... 8:30AM on a Saturday so the LIE was only backed up for 75 miles. I spent 90 minutes there and drank like 4 cups of coffee from the place next door just to pass the time.

Jeff & Dan are cool though... and they did handle all my stuff in no time (thankfully ).

So when you do the set-up get two. I personally don't need two.

More power to ya, but the car means too much to me to put it on laughing gas myself, id like to drive a VQ with nitrous, but i wouldnt wanna own it

Its kinda like putting a weak person on sterioids vs. just gettting an overall stronger person to do the same job, ya know what I mean?

Maybe one day when I am in your area I will let you drive it.
My car means alot to me also but I am not afraid to try different things with it.
Its mostly going to be for show. There are a few more things I am doing to get ready for the shows and meets next year.

This is my hobby and I enjoy it.

Peace and warm up there.
