Max head light

HI!

I had an unfortunate accident the other day and need to replace my passenger side front head light. My dealer quoted me about $1,400 Can for the replacement. Does anyone know where I can get this at a better price?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Thanks! I will try your suggestion. Regarding the headlights on ebay are these usually used or new?

I have a question regarding car parts. This looks like it's for used parts only. From what I could see, trademotion and nissan performance was quoting new out of the box. The used was almost as expensive as the new headlight assembly.

Are the 06 headlights the exact same. And what do those prices from trademotion include, bulb/ballast/housing?

new headlight assembly

I hit a deer two nights ago (10 point buck-about 250 lbs.) and will need at least one new headlight, maybe two. In addition to the headlight issue, I will need a new hood, windshield, radiator, front bumper, the steering wheel airbag reset, and various other parts. The insurance will cover it. I'd like to post pictures, but I don't have priveledges to do so. Does anyone know how to gain priviledges to post pictures?

When I get the final statement from the body shop, I'll let everyone know how much the insurance company got charged by the body shop for various parts.

In the meantime...I am driving a Chevy Cobalt rental while the Maxima is in the shop. It's certainly not a Maxima, but it beats walking!

Stupid question. How do you know if you have Halogen or Xenon? My wifes are a bluish color when on. I can usually tell her car at night from a distance by the headlights without even seeing the car. Most cars have a white light, hers has a bluish color.

The problem with buying used headlights is that you have no idea what you're getting and most of the time you can't return it.

Even buying new. They have a no return policy at Performance Parts.

Here is the easiest way, if you look on your lights, the very bottom of them, toward the grill, there are imprinted letters, etched that either say HIR (Halogen) or HID (Xenon)... My HIR's have a blueish hue to them too, and when i first got my car i thought they were HID's, but when i checked from tips from this board, i found the lettering and saw that they were in fact HIR's (halogen)...

quick question.... I need to replace one of my headlights (Xenon) because i dont want to install one with a scratch on it... Just to clarify i am asking for the correct one.... If i am outside of the car and i look at the front of it, i would need the one on my right side, or Drivers Side, so which one is it? I think it would be the Left correct? I dont want to buy one and find out its the passenger side, which is fine...

Again i need the Driver Side Headlight... Thanks Guys...

Ghost, Do you have the information on how in the heck to replace the Bulb(s)? I've been asking for this information for a while with no replies. Seems very tedious and time consuming.

Yeah... You have to remove the plastic parts inside your hood on each sides... Also remove your Stock Airbox, and i believe the washer hose.. I have never removed the lights myself, so cant be exactly sure.. It is written on this site a bunch of times how to... I know that you do have to remove those black plastic coverings to start on each side, and for sure the stock air box.. Its a pain in the ***... Personally i am going to get the dealership to this for me when i get my HID's installed in my fogs... It's $90 to remove my old Halogen's to put in my HID OEM Xenon..... the only reason i am letting them do it, is becasue i have no where to go do it myself.. Plus if they mess up it's on them...

Once you get those plastic things removed and things out of the way its pretty easy from what i have heard... Turn the grey cap until it comes off.. there is 2 silver (paperclip looking) clips that are pushed/pulled to remove and the bulbs just pops out. Sorry if i got you lost...

Hope this helps...

I don't know for a fact, but maybe stolen. I think these are popular with thieves.

thats only if you want to remove the headlights, i do believe.. If you look at the other threads reguarding HID's/Headlights, KAM has a write up for removing the parts your need.. its the first few steps..
