I know this won't appeal to everyone but I had to give it a shot. I contacted the infamous "bluebatmobile" to make me a set of "Chrome Sidemarker Overlays". He did a great job and shipped them right out. However after I put them on I felt they looked a bit out of place and trimmed about 1/2" off of each side. Anyhow the results are below. Its a good cheap mod for those with a steady hand. Could it look better...yes and I'll make improvements. But I personally think its an improvement over the amber.

It's actually not that bad, because you have a silver car... Reminds me of the chrome headlight rings that they make for MBs.

Looks good but now you've covered up the yellow side maker that blinks when your blinkers are on. Could that be a problem in most states? Just asking....

 

but won't the light shine out when you have the lights on? we need night pics if you can ... also for the vinyl, can you still see the amber peice if your looking at the car from straight on ?? thanks

 

I like the idea but I'd get them in silver instead of chrome...

 

dude, I like it..... all you need now is a chrome bulb for the turn signals.... but I like it..

Wow that was a quick response. The light shines right through the vinyl so that doesnt seem to be an issue. You can't see any amber what so ever during the day or night. They seem very chrome in the pics but in person they are nearly a perfect match to the chrome in the headlights. This mod is illegal in PA because you need to have amber reflect on the side of the car. I'm sure that it wont be a problem though. I'm going to work with Blue Bats to make this style rather than the one he offers now. The total cost is only about $12! You can't beat the look for that $$.

I just got a e-mail from Bat and i think I will get a pair, not bad for 12 bucks. all these front end mods and no rear end mods, my cars @ss is getting lonely

 

I think the issue is that you still need side reflectors though... and they're supposed to be amber as per DOT I think. No big deal though... people go with clears for the longest without getting harassed by The Man. The only issue would be if you live in a state where they wouldn't pass inspection.

 

thats right, I was thinking when they flashed, not the reflector part of it..

it really blends the headlamp to the rest of the car I think. that orange just don't play a good roll right where it is..

 

Keep in mind guys...Bats overlays are nice and very high quality but not cut the same as mine. I shaved about 1/2" off the vinyl. Its very easy to do...I just don't want anyone to get the wrong idea. Again for $12 you can't go wrong. Buy two sets incase you mess one up.

That looks sharp. My tint is illegal I guess I shouldn't worry about the markers. In Maryland you go through inspection once in a lifetime so I'm good. Sign me up. A bat pm me with info.

HAMY....what kind of wheels are those on your 5th gen? the 11 spoke ones...kind of look like konig divas but you say they are axis on your cardomain....cant find the wheel on their site...tried to pm you about them....thanks
