Locked Out!
Dang it, I was on my way to work this morning (5am). Stopped off at McDonald’s to pick up a couple of DVDs, pulled up right next to the DVD box, left the car running, got out, shut the door, grabbed DVDs and when I went back the car…...LOCKED OUT!!
I know I didn’t lock the door, the remote was still attached to the key chain in the ignition so I didn’t press any buttons. (of course if I had the remote, I would be locked out) I have had this happen to me one time before in the 14months I owned the Max. Not sure why it would just be locked sometime.
Does the 6th Gen have some sort of auto-lock function? Anyone else ever have this little surprise?

There's an autolock feature, you can check the manual for instructions on how to disable it.
I think in your case it wasn't that though... it's the stupid locking thing that Nissan put in the car. Sometimes if you lock the doors and open the driver's side manually, you will bump the lock just a tad, and that's enough to lock it. I've had times when you close the door hard enough and it will move, locking you out.
Fortunately I've only been locked out once... after that I always leave a window open if I'm stepping out -- like to say hello to somebody you see on the street, cleaning the windshield, whatever. Sucks, but it sucks less than getting locked out.

....the only time that I've known that the auto lock feature works was when you initially get in the car. I've gotten out of my car afterwards and closed the door fully and my door always stayed unlocked, but than maybe can it be because I have the Clifford Matrix that maybe bypasses all that??

Hmmmm I bet it was something stupid like that.
Maybe I did bump it enough to have it lock on me when I shut the door.
Had to call my wife and have her bring me the valet key. (Lost my other key and fob in California on vacation.) Next mod: Retina scan!
My plan: make a generic duplicate of my key at the local hardware store. It will open the door but not start the car. Right?
Guess it's time to fork over the cash and buy a new fob and key. As I understand it, the fob I can get from Ebay, the key I have to get from the dealer and the programming instructions are here at the org.
