Yes on please when you get a chance...
And yes supposedly they switched the non NAV screen to color for 2006, this pic is from the Nissan site is definitely not the NAV screen and for sure not the orange LCD I have:

Or go to the site and click on the "Integrated Center Display" in the features section

ok, if this is true, then our orange display really does suck big time.

I don't know for sure but it looks the same to me. If anything, it looks as if it went from orange to yellow. But I'm sure it's all color distortion due to the size of the pic.

Well, I was at a nissan dealer the other day to check out the 06' max because I'm in the market to purchase one soon and it displayed exactly the same thing you see there on the pic. I'm not sure if the previous models had less info on the trip computer, but it was definitely still orange to me. And, I'm not color blind.

Has anyone yet looked into whether you could add the color nav screen into a non-nav car and have the screen and controls work except for the nav? In other words, if you didnt care about actually having nav, could you swap the orange (or in my case, blue) display for a nav display and have the basic functions for climate and settings still work?

So what is displayed in that pic, is definitely different than the basic orange LCD that I have. You can clearly see yellow in there and a blue background in the upper portion of the screen. But we've had 3 '06 owners say they have the crappy orange? That's why I was asking for confirmation with a pic from someone who has it...

The pic you're referring to on the nissan site looks all orange to me. I don't think there's even really any yellow. But it does look like it's displaying stuff we don't have...it'd have to be some amazing stuff to justify swapping yours out for another orange display i would think. But that's me.

That color screen is from the Nissan Quest.

I remember there was a thread when the 06's updates were released. That was one of the topics that the new non nav screen would be the same as the quest. Who knows??!?!?

Although it is blurry, I blew up that pic from the Nissan site, I know I can see yellow, wht text and a blue background on there. Maybe this will help you see it too.

That looks to be the same one that the '06 Murano has (along with LED tail lights).

I've been interested in this too. Actually I saw one of your posts and i went on a scavanger hunt for a pic but just saw the one you have posted. I need to go and get my car serviced next week so I was thinking of asking them. I'd really like to get rid of the orange.

that looks exactly like the NAVI screen:
video of an 05 NAVI: http://forums.maxima.org/showpost.ph...9&postcount=66 (from 9Nails in the Sirius thread)

I visited dealer just to see if 06 screen changed and was told nothing changed for the screen

Just a note - they're no LEDs in there. It's an LCD screen. I know it doesn't seem like much of a difference, but's it's apples to oranges. (or maybe you mean LCDs).

Noobs

Standard screen = LED

NAVI screen = LCD

So anyone confirm if Standard has/will become LCD like NAVI??? or it's still LED Orange??

Oh my! My apologies, you're right. The LEDs illuminate the LCD matrix from behind. Wow - I've never seen that before. Cool.

I actually found a brand new 7" nissan OEM Nav screen on Ebay for $50 dollars and I tried it and it started smoking when I hooked it up and it didn't display anything at all.

So I guess that's a no on that mod. Didn't think it would plug and play anyways, makes no sense that it would...

I figured if the plugs matched up then it might work and for only 50 dollars why not try at least.
