2006 Navigational System

Hello all,

I've had my 06 Maxima for almost three months and can't figure out the navigational system. when I turn on the ignitiion do you always have to hit enter in order to view the map? This thing is driving me crazy.

Please help!

Most built-in navigation systems have a "legal screen" that you must accept (by pressing the enter key) before they'll display the map. It's a pain in the backside, but unless you find a hack to disable it, you'll have to live with it.

Thank the trial lawyers for that one ...

Yes.

I think it's some sort of legal "cover your butt" thing that Nissan does. And I have yet to find a way to disable it. I doubt that is even possible, and there doesn't seem to be any secret options to make it go away too. I'm not sure if all car makers do that. But I also find it highly annoying. I'm expecting that some update DVD-ROM will remove this warning and just let us use the navigation in peace. But we might have to complain to Nissan in large numbers to get them to change that.

Thanks for the response. This confirms that I'm not crazy. I thought there was something I was missing. It really is a pain in the a@#. But on the flip side of that, it is awesome. All I have to say is "once you have one, you'll always want one".

I don't remember if anybody with a 6th gen has done it, but I clearly remember seeing people that have bypassed the "nag" screen in the Murano and the G/FX. Don't remember where I saw it though...

Like Chernmax said you get used to it after awhile and do it without notice.

It's not hard. But we're big boys. We want to AGREE and have it understand that we did agree, and leave us alone. It's like the car is shareware, and we haven't bought it until that NAG screen goes away

Any way, has anyone done the Generator NoNAG install on their Max yet? What was the results?
