Warranty ? for alignment

I'm having problems with my alignment. the car keeps slightly rolling to the left when i let go of the steering wheel, of course only for a few seconds at most. I want to know if this is covered under the warranty.

Oh yea, btw, i have an 05 and have around 16.5K miles on it.

If it is covered by warranty, what should i tell them so they don't give me any hassles?

I don't think alignments are covered under warrenty, especially since you live in one of the pot hole capitals of the world.

I believe that alignments are covered under the 12/12 mileage so you are out of it by 4k

i went to dealer once with a similar problem and they told it was the way the road was made so it is always going to go to one direction, and according to chernmax we live in the pot hole capital

I actually had an alignment done under warrantee at about 30,000. I had just bought the car and about a week later or so I thought that it might be slightly out of alignment. So I asked them to check it out for me along with some other stuff and they did, free of charge. Never hurts to ask.

You have nothing to lose by going to the dealer. It could be more than a alignment issue.

Yes but you just bought the car and they may have felt they owed it to you, but I agree with you, Ramberg and others, never hurts to ask...

They dont have to give you a free alignment because it is not in the warrenty, if they choose to do so that is up to them.

I think that is the 12 minute or 12 mile coverage on the alignments offered by Nissan.

My car tends to slowly drift to one side of the road or the other depending on the severity of the crown of the road. On nice flat roads I can drive without touching the wheel for quiet a while. Comes in handy while I dial my cell, drink my coffee, eat a bagel and slap the crap out of my kids for spilling their juice box on my seats!!!!

If, when you apply the brakes, it pulls hard to the same side everytime, then you may have an alignment problem.

BadBlack - It has been my experience that a car pulling to one side when I brake usually has a brake problem rather than an alignment problem.

I could be wrong here but if you have an extended warranty that covers a lot of parts in the front end. You might be cover if it is a defect of the parts covered section of your warranty. In the warraty section it tells you that an alignment is covered if it is related to a defective part. We all know most won't try to cover it. Some dealers seem to hate warranty work. Check your warranty and if the dealer tells you whats wrong then you could show him the book. Most of the time if your alignment is off it usually indicates something is wrong with the front end. They would probably blame it on potholes of course. We have our shared of potholes destroying front ends here in dc
