I just purchased it, being installed next week with about 4 other mods by RedLineMax. Maxmale has one and achieved excellent results. Currently one of the only computers on the market where you can bypass ECU setting for Air/Fuel settings and truly feel the effects of CAI/Y-Pipe/Catback mods to the Max...

Fuel Computers - Apexi SAFC 2

The SAFC-II is a fuel computer that adjusts air/fuel ratio by modifying the air flow meter/MAP sensor signal. The S-AFC II Features a user-definable, twelve-point, adjustable fuel curve that can be set in 200 RPM increments. The range of fuel adjustment is +/- 50% at each of these user-defined setting points. On hot wire vehicles, the Deceleration Air Flow Correction Function is capable of curing the erratic idle and stall problems associated with open atmousphere blow-off valves on hot-wire airflow meter systems. The S-AFC II is capable of monitoring and replaying the following data channels in Numerical, Analog Meter and Graph Displays: Intake Manifold Vacuum/Boost Pressure, Air Flow Capacity, Karmann Frequency, Engine RPM, THrottle Position, and Air Flow Correction %.
These do not come with english instructions.

These were done last year on the same day and they are different.
Look at the temp and humidity at the bottom.

Differences in numbers--real or erronious?

Brothers and sisters, if we look at the charts in the immediately prior posting, we see three different test runs conducted 8/16/2005. Max (no pun intended) Power ranged from 218.71 to 221.92. Max Torque, however, yielded the following numbers: 222.77, 226.62 and 253.33. Although I am not an expert in this area by any means, these Power differences appear to be small and they are probably due to chance factors--meaning, they are trivial and should be ignored. The same would seem true of the first two Torque values. Problem is, that third Torque number just isn't credible to me, based on how much it differs from the first two values, and how closely the Power (HP) numbers are across runs. Thoughts?

you guys are giving dyno's that the max is already hooked up with cattbacks and y pipes.

you might be missleading the member, he's prob thinking that the max will pick up 32hp from it since I posted my stock run at 200hp.

fyi, these maxes have y-pipes and cattbacks, ramberg has a pulley on his along with everything else, don't get confused with this..

looks like maxmale picked up 10hp with it on his before and after, with mods...

nube questions here, how come max power and max torque drops so much compared to what they say its supposed to be around (265 hsp, 255 torque) even with your mods? and it seems like the computer u added only adds about 10 pounds of max torque and 10 hsp at its best.

Thats because the manufacturers almost all give HP & TQ ratings at the crank if the engine was being tested on a stand with no load. Once the engine is installed and has the trans and drivetrain to go through, there is a loss on all engines. What these dynos are showing is what they call at the wheels power. Hope that helps.

those numbers can also be at a certain rpms and gear.

when you mod your car those tq and hp ratings are spread through out the whole rpm band, not just at a certain rpm..

this car starves for fuel after 5k rpms, the car goes very lean. this program gives it more fuel at the rpms you need it at, more power..

Plus being automatics the rule of thumb is 20% loss through the drive train so 265 at the crank -52 hp loss through the 20% rules leaves you at around 200hp to the wheels.

I was just showing you that dynos can be different on the same day,not that I have mods on the car.

They didn't change any numbers. The only think that might have caused it was the weather conditions of the day.
Other than that I don't know.

I believe it could be a spike. Sometimes tq reads extremely high and its because of a spike.

ecu is getting installed tomorrow, the keys were the problem... the dealer will install it and program the keys to it, so we are all set for that, hopefully the ecu has no problems and we can drive the car away..

I made another appointment for the dyno on saturday for 1pm...

So Tek, what exactly were they supposed to modify? Will it still "learn" your driving style? If not, are we sure that is the obstacle preventing mods from working?

I'm sure/and hope, you will see an increase, but maybe you should re-dyno after a month?

HOLY ****!!!!

the car throws you deeper in the seat with any touch of the pedal at any rpms!!!!

it seems that it shifts faster, the lag in the shifting seems to have cut down...

I haven't tested the governor yet, but someday lol...

can't wait to see gains on the dyno...
