OBD II scanner

I just wanted to give everyone in the 6th gen forums a head's up. I've been interested in purchasing a datalogger/scan tool for quite a while now..I e-mailed autoenginuity back in December for a GB price and was told $180.00 including shipping +$10 for Canadian buyers ($70 off retail price) if we got 10 people or more, but there wasn't much interest becasue of Christmas. Since then I've found a few people locally who had this program and tested it. It seems to work well. Anyways recently someone in the fifth gen forum was asking about it, so I called auto back and they said that if we got 10 the gb price was still good. So anyways here's a link.

Just began working with OBDII interface

I am also experimenting with OBDII on my 6th gen. I am using the CANUSB interface from Lawicel (wanted to use my laptop instead of scantool). Probably should have bought Digimoto.

Goals:1) use Digimoto or similar software to monitor CAN network traffic, reset MILs, dyno runs, etc. Many software/shareware NOT CAN compatible. 2) buy NISSAN ECU program file from www.nissan-techinfo.com/nissan/ecm.asp?, modify ECU file (rev limiter, timing map, etc), and upload back to ECU using free J2534 program (Windows based). This only works for 6th gen.

I am newbie with OBDII. So far, I can see the CAN traffic. Again, just started last week.

What is the best OBD II device or software for a laptop to purchase....For the money.

I may be having some sensor issues but don't want to invest $200.00 in a 2004 Maxima with 188 K miles.
